Recently, some Rovers from SNR joined with an Olave and some other NSW Rovers to participate in RYLA.

RYLA, or Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, is an intensive leadership development program for young people (typically 18-28) sponsored by local Rotary clubs Rotary to help them discover and build leadership potential through challenging workshops, team-building, and community service focus. It's a residential camp or conference that provides practical leadership skills, personal growth, and connections for future leaders in their careers and communities.

Here is what Hunter had to say about the program. “I went to RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) after hearing multiple recommendations for the course from other rovers and thought it would be a good opportunity to improve my leadership skills as well as get to learn myself a little better.
The course was to say the least absolutely eye-opening and I feel as if I was able to get a lot of value out of it, with the excellent facilitation team and the rotary district as a whole clearly putting a lot of effort into running RYLA.
Through RYLA I was able to learn a lot from both the practical exercises as well as the guest speakers about leadership approaches and how to work well with your team so that everyone can perform to the best of their abilities as well as learning a lot about myself and my own strengths and weaknesses so I can work to the best of my ability whilst pushing myself to be the best leader for not just myself but for others.
I would highly recommend the course to anyone aged 19-30 as there is truly nothing like it out there.”

Recently, Rovers from Sydney North were presented with their Rover Recognition Awards as well as with Special Service Awards.

The Quality Rovering Award is awarded to Rover Units who have excelled at delivering the Rover program in the previous year. To achieve this award, Units must have had a net increase in members, participated in activities in all 5 areas of scouting, have trained Unit Leaders and Rover Advisers as well as attend Region Rover Council meetings and carry out service.

The Rover Recognition Award is given in recognition of exemplary service to the Rover Section.

Congratulations to Aimee Savva, Sam Marinovich, Harley Bryant and Emily Marsden on your Rover Recognition Awards and congratulations to Epping and Forest on your Quality Rovering Awards.
Congratulations again to Emily Marsden on your Special Service Award for all the work you’ve put into running Sleep Point 6 for Scout Hike the past few years.
