Who wouldn't fall in love.... Syntherata janetta, a moth known for its size (wingspan around 12cm) and colour variety. The larvae feed on Celery Wood (Polyscias elegans), Cheese Tree (Glochidion ferdinandi), Shrubby Pine (Podocarpus spinulosus), White Mangrove (Avicenna marina) and a variety of exotics, among them Camphor laurel. The moth belongs to the Saturnidae family.
The yellow variety was captured in Chapel Hill by Charles Worringham, the dark red one in Indooroopilly by Jutta Godwin.
