The Castlemaine Idyll Band.

Absolutely unreal.

More than 30 songs from beloved films.
No panic, no wobbles.

Just brass, rhythm, keys, golden voices and a whole lot of style.

They carried every key change, caught every nervous glance & made every brave local sound like they’d been singing on stage for years.

It’s one thing to sing on that stage.

It’s another thing entirely to hold 7 hours of IDYLL together.

The band did both. What a bunch of talented & generous legends.

These legends kept IDYLL humming onsite at Lot19.

Castlemaine Fringe Festival firing up the BBQ like seasoned professionals.

Icecream Republic keeping small (& large) humans sweet.

Wash Against Waste quietly saving the planet, one plate at a time.

MainFM broadcasting the joy far beyond the lawn.

And the Castlemaine IDYLL crew in the kitchen serving up genuinely delicious, nutritious fare - plus a little merch for those wanting to wear the memory home.

It takes a village.

Turns out our village was excellent.

And then… nobody went home.

DJ Clam held the dancefloor.

Her set was a proper shake out and full body reset. DJ Clam kept us groovin' & booties shakin' with her funky electro, afro beats, hip hop & throwback hits.

So much fun & perfect ending for Castlemaine IDYLL 2026.

Casey Bennetto - broadcaster, writer, musician, and clearly someone who enjoys a bold creative gig.

Carla Bonner - actor, coach, and Ramsay Street royalty who knows a thing or two about showing up under lights.

Toby Heydon - Castlemaine Mayor, musician, actor, and enthusiastic supporter of the arts (especially when it's in Castlemaine).

They didn’t critique.

They celebrated.

They cheered.
They leaned in.
They got it.

The 'I Am Someone People’s Choice Award' aka 'The Spirit of IDYLL" made history.
A tie.

Jen Moore absolutely lifted the roof with “Somebody to Love.”
Pixy had the entire paddock holding onto “Don’t Stop Believin’.”

This award isn’t just about a song.

It’s about spirit.

Two performances, one community.
There was no way to split the crowd.

And here’s the part that matters even more:

Every dollar raised goes straight to I Am Someone’s projects in Uganda and Sierra Leone.

So while we were singing our hearts out at Lot 19 , something bigger was happening, we helped raised a record high $$ for I am someone this year at IDYLL. Every dollar raised will help build a children’s music school in Uganda.

Joy here.
Impact there.

That’s the power of IDYLL & I am Someone.

That moment when the whole crowd is singing together, magic.

It feels big on the grassy dancefloor.
Bet it feels even bigger up there on stage for our performers.

IDYLL powers Lot19’s big hearted habit of throwing events that feel like a community hug.
