It supports flora and fauna conservation, threatened mammal conservation, and community-driven landscape restoration. Wettenhall Environment Trust was set up in 1996 (as The Norman Wettenhall Foundation) by Dr Norman Wettenhall. On his death in 2000, his eldest son, Gib, became the Chair. The Trust funds projects concerned with nature conservation. It specifically looks to support small community
and environment groups where the grants will have the greatest impact. Funded projects under the Small Environmental Grant Scheme are about community education, research and science, training and capacity building around biodiversity conservation anywhere in Australia. The Trust also has a larger funding stream which focuses on community-driven landscape restoration in Victoria. There are seven projects in the program that receive continual support. The Trust actively receives donations from private individuals, but also from larger philanthropic trust. We currently work with the RE Ross Trust, The William Buckland Foundation, and The Yulgilbar Foundation. We are a member of the Australian Environmental Grantmakers Network (AEGN) http://aegn.org.au
