“ALL IN!” means backing First Nations-led futures.

During Reconciliation Week, we’re excited to launch the new Nalderun online shop!

Bush tucker plants, Sense of Country products, Nalderun merch and more, all connected to the work happening on Djaara Country through Me-Mandook Galk Bush Tucker Place and our broader community programs.

Nalderun is a not-for-profit organisation, and this shop is part of a growing revenue stream that we hope will help fund our education programs into the future. All purchases are supporting First Nations youth, Culture, Community and Country through practical, community-led work.

Reconciliation Week begins next Wednesday.

This year’s theme, ALL IN, is a strong reminder that reconciliation is not passive. It asks all of us to reflect on the histories of this place, the ongoing impacts of colonisation, and the role we each play in challenging racism and supporting First Nation self-determination.
The week begins, following the Sorry Day Commemoration, with the official Reconciliation Week Launch on Wednesday 27th May, 10am–12pm at the Market Building in Castlemaine.
There are great, action provoking events running across the week including , walks, film screenings, exhibitions and community gatherings.
Head to the Nalderun website for the full program and more information.

Plans sorted for Saturday!

Nalderun Bush Tucker Crew will be down at the Town Open Day tomorrow with a stall showing our curated spread from Me-Mandook Galk, bush tucker plants, Sense of Country products, and Nalderun merch.

With the cooler weather and rain starting to settle in, it’s a great time of year to get native plants into the ground on Djaara Country. The plants establish well through Waring season and are better prepared for the hotter months ahead.

We’ll have a range of hardy local bush food plants grown and cared for by our bush tucker team out at Me-Mandook Galk Education Place.

Town Open Day is all about bringing community together, a chance to meet local groups, find your people, and connect with the many different folk. Projects, clubs and organisations that make this place what it is, will all be involved!

Saturday 16 May
10am–2pm
The Goods Shed, Castlemaine

Come by, have a try out and a yarn!

NALDERUN PROJECT MANAGER POSITION:

This is a role that means a lot to us.

For a long time, there’s been a vision held by Elders, community and young people, to create a place near Me-Mandook Galk that is grounded in culture, learning and connection to Country. This project is about bringing that vision into reality, in the right way, with the right people.

We’re looking for someone who understands that this kind of work goes beyond timelines and budgets. It’s about relationships, respect, listening, and walking alongside community.
We strongly encourage First Nations people with project experience to apply.
If this feels like something you could step into, or if you know someone who should, we’d really appreciate you sharing it.
