Do you think there'd be interest in a community garden-farm here in Castlemaine?

By that I mean offering for people who may or may not live where to come and access the market garden to grow their own food.

If so, what do you think is reasonable to charge for a plot?
Would you include the drip irrigation for each bed?
Provide mulch for the paths?

Each bed/row is 1m wide and 25m long, so, a total of 25m². Even one bed is a pretty substantial size, enough to provide a lot of fresh food to meet a family's needs.

And are you, or do you know someone who might be interested in renting a plot and gardening/farming here? Send them my way!

-

The other benefit I forgot to mention was the social connection side. Many people may even have the space at home to garden, but may not want to grow food there because its not nearly as motivating or as fun compared to doing it alongside others and learning, getting inspiration, in a community space.

There could even be the option to come whenever suits and/OR scheduled community gardening days where people know that they'll have some company and connection.

Thoughts?

If you are potentially interested in renting an allotment/plot here or going on my mailing list to receive more information about it, please email your details to: [email protected]

Can you help?

I need to urgently plant these bare-rooted fruit trees, but I have an injured arm so I'm a bit stuck!

One things is clear... never again am I willing to be millions of dollars in debt AND not have stable housing at the same time. 😭

That was the most miserable winter of my life. Im surprised I can even talk about it without bawling.

It makes the next decision clearer at least ny narrowing down some options!

Sometimes we learn hard lessons about what we DONT want or need, either by having it land in our life without us choosing it, or by choosing it, thinking that there are no other options.

And the silver lining of these experiences is that they teach us what NOT to do next or ever again.

Which helps us step towards what DOES work for us, what we DO want, what we DO need.

Oh, all this was while deeply grieving the separation and desperately missing my daughter, whose life I now missed of. 😭

I was so cold, so isolated, and so full of despair.

I think it was the most miserable I have ever been.

Never doing that again, that's for sure!

Standard Residential Lease or Worker's Accommodation?

Is this place too special to do something that ordinary with it?

What do you think?

I feel like it's would be lost potential.

So much more than that could happen here. So much growth, in all the ways: food, knowledge, connections, humans.

Dont forget "Resilient Rants" is on this Monday! (Previously Monday Night Feast)

Still a potluck feast, still an open community gathering PLUS the opportunity for us to have deeper chats about community resilience.

Here's the invitation:

Sign up to give a 5 minute rant (talk) about any topic you like that is vaguely themed around resilience.

It could be something you know heaps about, a skill you have to share, or a new idea you're keen to pitch.

It can be as simple, serious or silly as you like.
You can interpret "resilience" as broadly as you like.

No thing fancy, no PowerPoint slides needed or any particular prep or presentability - just blab away. The bar is low!

We will aim for just 3 x 5 minute talks spaced out over the evening, giving us time to chat in between each one.

And of course, you can come and just eat and listen and yarn!

Come anytime from 4:30pm, talks start from 5:30pm. Dinner at 6pm.

Bring an ingredient OR a plate to share, OR a $5 donation OR just yourself if thats all too hard.

All ages welcome including kidlets.

Im doing what they call "Build In Public", taking you along on the journey, figuring it out as I go. I dont have a clear answer. I don't have something finished and polished to offer.

Ok, so the second part of that title text was a bit cheeky. Yes there'll be a big announcement soon, but not yet, not until I know what's happening! 😆 soon....

Wow so many ideas, Im blown away.

Crodwsourcing inspiration is a frigging incredibly hopeful thing. Many minds combined are definitely more creative than just one!

I think "manifestation" is a load of hippie bullsh*t.

But... something I'm doing seems to be working!

Im reaching aligned people that I want to reach. People are sharing heaps of ideas and offers and options. It's really exciting!

(Ah, it might be because Im actually taking action and putting clear messages out there kind of "manifesting", not just the sitting there thinking hopeful thoughts type of manifesting...haha 😝)

And now Im overwhelmed with all the options on the table, but overwhelmed in a positive, hopeful way, which is a nice change! 😊

Now to decide what to do next.. 🤯
