Diamond Women is a not-for-profit organisation run by a group of compassionate and caring individuals that seek to provide help and support to women and families facing an unplanned pregnancy. DPS offers practical assistance in the way of baby and maternity goods, emotional and spiritual support through counselling and group classes to train and equip women and families facing an unplanned pregnan

cy. Through a network of community service organisations we are able to connect our clients to organisations that assist in meeting their medium and long term goals. Diamond Women provides for the relief of anxiety and distress faced by women surrounding an unplanned pregnancy by meeting their immediate and long term needs. Diamond Women works with women, their partners and families to provide long term solutions in the best interest of both themselves and their unborn child. We at Diamond Women believe that every woman facing an unexpected pregnancy deserves support, respect, kindness, compassion and care.

Happy Father's Day.

To every dad who shows up before he feels ready. Who doesn't have it all figured out, and shows up anyway. Who asks for help when he needs it, and lets that be enough.

This Father's Day, we shared Ty's story the fear, the doubt, the slow realisation that he wasn't in it alone. We saw other men that showed what presence really looks like, in all its imperfect, ordinary forms.

Thank you to everyone who watched, shared, and gave over the past two weeks. Because of you, more men facing an unexpected pregnancy will have someone by their side, too.

Presence, not perfection. That's what fatherhood and Fathers for Fathers has always been about.

Ty didn't know what to expect when he first came to Diamond Women.

*"I was really just there for, I say moral support... I was also freaking out."*

What he found was somewhere he didn't expect a place where he actually felt supported, not just Kaylee.

*"I started to feel at ease with being a dad, just knowing that someone was there... someone completely unrelated who actually knew what the next steps were."*

Some men just show up before they feel ready, before they've got it figured out.

One of our own Diamond Women team shared this moment of her husband with their newborn. It's a reminder of why we do this work: every father deserves the chance to show up like this.

He didn't plan this. He wasn't sure he was ready.

Today, when Ty talks about being a dad, he says it plainly: "It's the greatest thing ever."

There was a future he couldn't see yet one where the fear made sense, where the money worked itself out, where he became exactly the father his daughter needed.

He just had to get there first.

When we picture it, we picture the appointments, the changes, the decisions. But there's often a man standing just outside the frame, carrying fear and pressure of his own, not sure where he fits or what he's allowed to feel.

That's how Ty describes himself in the early days showing up for Kaylee's appointments, not knowing what "moral support" even meant, freaking out just as much as she was.

Good fathers do not always have everything figured out.

They show up. And they ask for help when they need it.

That's not weakness; that's what it actually looks like. Nobody expects a new dad to have all the answers. What matters is that he stays, keeps trying, and isn't afraid to lean on someone when it gets hard.

This Father's Day, we're running Fathers for Fathers because someone helped each of us become the father, husband or man we are, and that same support can help another man show up too. No man facing an unexpected pregnancy should have to work it out alone.

Ty wasn't planning on becoming a dad. But when it happened, he knew one thing for certain: he'd be okay.

"I've had some pretty great father figures in my life... even if I wasn't prepared to be a dad, I knew I'd be fine because I have great father figures in my life."

Not because he had it all figured out. Because he had someone to look up to.

That's the quiet thing about fatherhood: it's rarely built alone. Someone shows up for us, so we know how to show up for someone else.

"How am I going to pay for all this?"

That was the loudest fear in Ty's head when he found out he was going to be a dad. Not whether he'd love his daughter. Whether he could afford to show up for her.

It's a fear a lot of men carry alone quietly doing the maths, too ashamed to say it out loud.

No man facing an unexpected pregnancy should have to work out fatherhood by himself.
