🚧 Street Sweeping Schedule: February – March 2026 πŸƒ

Council’s street sweeping program will be rolling through the Shire from late February into March. Detailed cleaning is scheduled town by town below. All dates are weather permitting.

πŸ“ Aberdeen
- Monday 23 February – Start sweeping, approximately half of town
- Monday 2 March – Finish remaining streets
- Monday 9 March – Catch up on any outstanding areas if required

πŸ“ Cassilis
- Tuesday 24 February – All streets, first pass
- Thursday 26 February – Complete remaining streets

πŸ“ Merriwa
- Tuesday 24 February – Start sweeping
- Thursday 26 February – Continue remaining streets

πŸ“ Scone – Please refer to map:
- Friday 27 February – Map 1, east of Kelly Street
- Monday 2 March – Continue Map 1, east of Kelly Street
- Tuesday 3 March – Start Map 2, west of Kelly Street
- Wednesday 4 March – Map 4, north-east of Map 1, all streets completed in one day
- Thursday 5 March – Continue Map 2, west of Kelly Street
- Friday 6 March – Map 3, Satur Road and streets west of Middlebrook Road, including Rosehill Road, Bunnan Road, Moobi Road and streets off Moobi Road
- Tuesday 10 March – Continue Map 2, west of Kelly Street
- Thursday 12 March – Continue Map 3

- 16 to 20 March – Crews will return to any areas missed due to rain or heavy debris and complete all remaining work.

Please move vehicles, trailers, caravans and other items away from kerbsides where possible by using your driveway. This helps crews clean streets efficiently and thoroughly.

Live in the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone? Looking to build job-ready skills for construction or renewables?

EnergyCo and the NSW Department of Education, in partnership with VERTO and SKIVL, are offering a free, nationally accredited two-week training program right here in our region.

Participants will gain industry tickets including:
βœ” White Card
βœ” Working at Heights
βœ” Confined Spaces
βœ” Traffic Control
βœ” Risk Management
βœ” Small Plant & Haul Truck Operations
βœ”οΈ 2-day Work Preparation Skills workshop (resume, cover letters & interview skills)

Previous participants have moved into roles in traffic control, civil construction and labouring.

The Liverpool Range Wind Farm Project team is inviting the community to drop in and learn about proposed changes to the project’s development consent.

These proposed modifications include:

βœ… Reducing the overall project footprint
βœ… Removing both Turee Vale Road and the external transmission line from the project

The Independent Planning Commission is holding a public meeting regarding the Liverpool Range Wind Quarry on Wednesday 22 October 2025 at Cassilis Community Hall at 10 am.

This development approval will allow for the mining of construction material (700,000 tonnes per year) for the Liverpool Range Wind project. The gravel from this quarry will be used for hardstands and the many public roads that are now sealed but will revert to gravel during the 5 year wind construction period.

This open cut quarry is on private land. It is for use by the wind farm only.

Come along & listen or if you wish to speak at this meeting you will need to register by 12 noon on Tuesday 14 October. Registration is via the Independent Planning Commission case portal.
