🎳 All Sections. One Night. Big Fun.

This week all sections of 2nd Casino Scouts came together and headed to Kyogle for a night of 10 pin bowling…
And let’s just say — there were some very interesting bowling techniques on display 😄
Strikes, spares, gutter balls… and plenty of laughs along the way.

Youth led. Adult supported.

Moments like this bring everyone together — and that’s where the real magic happens.

🎯 Would your kid love this?

This week at 2nd Casino Scouts we took on a hands-on challenge…

Build your own slingshot using rope and bamboo — then put it to the test 💦
And yes… wet sponges were flying everywhere 😄

But behind the fun was something bigger.

Knots.
Teamwork.
Problem solving.
Confidence.

All built by the Scouts themselves.
Youth led. Adult supported.
This is what real adventure looks like — messy, fun, and full of skills for life.

🙌 This Is What Community Looks Like

Tonight, our 2nd Casino Scouts hit the Rail Trail for the adventure ride they trained for last week… and it turned into something even better.

There were laughs, challenges, and plenty of fun along the way 😄🚲
Not everything went to plan — we had a bike break down.

But nothing stops a Scout.

With a bit of Scouts knowledge, teamwork, and some quick thinking 🔧 we were back up and riding in no time.

💚 A huge thank you to Dan and Bec — not only passionate local riders, but Scouts parents who jumped in to support the group tonight.
That’s what makes this so special… families backing youth, and community supporting community.

Real adventure.
Real fun.
Real people backing our young people.

🚲 Big Adventure Incoming… Scouts Trained for It Tonight

Tonight at 2nd Casino Scouts we were preparing for something exciting.
First up we created our Unit Code — because every great Patrol needs teamwork and respect.

Then the energy ramped up with a big game of dodgeball.

But the main mission tonight was bikes 🚲
We learnt the ABC bike safety check, practised riding through cones, and learnt how to ride safely in buddy patrols.

Confidence.
Teamwork.
Skills for life.

All building toward something bigger…

🌏 Real Adventure Isn’t Just Fun… It’s Service.

This week our Scouts rolled up their sleeves for Clean Up Australia Day.

We cleaned around our hall and parts of Colley Park — and wow… it’s amazing what you find lying around.

So many random shoes 👞
Socks 🧦

And plenty of rubbish that shouldn’t have been there in the first place.

But this is what Scouts is about.
Not just adventure.
Not just games.
But teaching responsibility.
Community pride.
And why looking after our environment matters.

Youth led. Adult supported.

Next week we’re bringing our bikes 🚲 in for a full safety check…
Because the week after that?
Adventure ride incoming.

Confidence.
Teamwork.
Skills for life.

🚨 They asked. We delivered.
In Unit Council, our Cubs & Joeys decided they wanted to paint the Scout Wall.
Tonight? Mission complete 🎨
Youth led. Adult supported.
Teamwork. Confidence. Real adventure.
Even our very unique Scout scarf made it onto the wall 👀
And of course… a big game of SPUD to finish.
But the adventure doesn’t stop there.
🌏 Next week we’re doing our bit for the community.
We’ll be taking part in Clean Up Australia — cleaning around the hall and parts of Colley Park.
Because Scouts isn’t just about fun.
It’s about service.
It’s about community.
It’s about building young people who care.
Helping our community is a huge part of what we stand for.

🚀The Kids Aren’t the Only Ones Growing Here.
This weekend one of our 2nd Casino Cubs Leaders, Eagle, attended a North Coast Leaders Development weekend — and it pushed him well outside his comfort zone.
The weekend was packed with learning and networking with other leaders from across the region. From behind-the-scenes systems with Scouts NSW to understanding why proper training matters in adventurous activities — it was all about building skills and confidence to deliver the best program for our youth.
And here’s something many people don’t realise…
Scouts provides nationally recognised training qualifications — completely free as part of volunteering.
Then came Sunday.
Leaders could choose bushwalking, archery, or abseiling.
Eagle chose abseiling… despite not being a fan of heights.😬
First attempt?
Feet slipped. He ended up upside down.
But thanks to Scouts’ strong safety systems (and a calm belayer — thanks Kim!👏), he got safely to the ground.
Back at the top, something changed.
He went again.
And again.
And again.💪
The biggest lesson?
Growth happens outside your comfort zone.
That’s exactly what we do in Scouts.
We build resilient kids through safe challenges.
We build resilient adults through real opportunities to grow.
We do the hard things here — so when life throws something hard at our youth or our leaders, they’re ready.
You gain skills.
You gain confidence.
You gain qualifications.
You gain community.
A big thank you to the North Coast Region team for delivering such a valuable weekend — and we’re especially proud that two of the team helping lead it are from 2nd Casino. 💚
We’re currently looking for new leaders to join our team.

🕵️‍♂️ Did your kids spot mysterious chalk symbols around town this week?
That was us 👀 — it was our legendary Chalk Chase night!
Our Joeys & Cubs took part in a giant clue-based hide and seek — solving puzzles, working as a team, and leading the adventure themselves.
At 2nd Casino Scouts we’re youth-led, adult-supported — building confidence, resilience and real friendships (while having a heap of fun).
We also celebrated Harry’s SIA presentation, recognising the effort he put into achieving his personal goal. Massive effort, Harry 👏

🌳🔥 A big, fun-filled week at 2nd Casino Scouts! 🔥🌳
This week our Cubs and Joeys kicked things off with touch football — and for most of us it was our very first time! It was an awesome introduction to the sport, with lots of laughs and learning along the way.
We then slowed things down and got creative using our imaginations with air-dry clay, before finishing the night with classic games of tag and bullrush.
Because it was such a hot night, we did our opening and closing under the tree — something a little different for Casino, and the kids loved it 🌿
The best part?
👉 We welcomed 5 new friends to Scouts this week — how good is that! 💚
Meanwhile, our Scouts enjoyed a board game night, mixed in some basketball and one bounce, and finished off with a super dooper supper 😄

🔥 Big energy, big voices, big fun at Scouts! 🔥
Tonight we kicked things off with some high-energy games — Red Rover Cross Over, Pac Man, and One Shot. Lots of running, lots of laughs, and plenty of teamwork on show.
We also slowed things down for an important part of Scouts — Unit Council.
This is where the youth get a real say in what we do. They shared ideas, voted, and helped decide what our program will look like this term.
It’s what we call youth-led, adult-supported — and it works. 💚
