Footbridge across the Richmond River.
Carrington Park in South Casino was dedicated as a public reserve on 18 January 1884. The Council received money from the government to help in the upkeep of parks and reserves and it was noted in 1886 that the Council had not used the money allocated to them in 1883.
Complaints were received from residents of Casino about the distance that they had to go to to get from the main part of town to the park so it was decided that a low-level footbridge was the answer.
In January 1888 the tender of A. Greentree and J. Wells was accepted for the construction for the sum of £76.13s 9d. The structure was 92 ft long and 5ft wide. The suspenders were firmly bolted into the rock in the bed of the river.
