❤️ Carwoola HeartHelp is officially launched ❤️

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate the launch of Carwoola HeartHelp — a community-led initiative helping make our region safer, stronger and more connected.

Thanks to an incredible $15,000 community grant from Community Bank Bungendore, Bendigo Bank, along with additional fundraising support from our local community, we now have 8 publicly accessible AEDs installed across Carwoola — ready to help save lives when every minute matters.

Carwoola HeartHelp focuses on three key ways our community can help in a cardiac emergency:
🚑 8 publicly accessible AEDs installed across Carwoola
🫀 Free CPR training for local residents
📱 Building our local GoodSAM responder network

A huge thank you to everyone who helped bring this project to life:

THANK YOU! What a spectacular "Stayin Alive" Trivia Night we had on Saturday, 23 May! The hall was packed with laughter, community spirit, and friendly competition.

Thanks to your incredible generosity, we exceeded our fundraising target! Together with a generous $15k grant from Bendigo Bank Bungendore, we surpassed the extra $5k+ needed to launch our HeartHelp project.

Carwoola residents – learn how to save a life.

The Carwoola Community Association, with support from Bendigo Bank Bungendore, is offering free CPR and AED Awareness Sessions for our local Carwoola community.

In rural areas, ambulance response times can vary. When cardiac arrest happens, immediate action from people nearby can make all the difference. These sessions are designed to give you the confidence and practical skills to step in when it matters most.

No prior experience is needed. Training will be delivered by a senior St John Ambulance volunteer and will cover hands-on CPR and how to use a defibrillator (AED). This is functional training to industry standards, and no certification is required to perform CPR as a good samaritan.

Sessions are free, but registration is required.
