A Coastal Hazard Warning for abnormally high tides is currently in effect along the Victorian coastline east of Cape Otway, encompassing Port Phillip Bay and Western Port Bay.

During yesterday's high tide, an elevated sea level was observed along the Victorian coastline, including Port Phillip Bay, resulting in water inundating boardwalks, low-lying roads, and car parks in areas such as Frankston, Mornington, Patterson River, and Fishermans Bend.

Given the strong south-westerly winds prevailing today, the threat of minor flooding from seawater in low-lying areas persists, particularly in the northern regions of the bay proximate to the city.

The high tide near Melbourne is anticipated around 6:30 pm this evening. Conditions are forecast to improve across Victoria by Friday.
