SAFE Carnarvon SAFE Carnarvon is a Western Australian animal rescue & rehoming organisation. Mary first started the branch here in Carnarvon in 2007.

Animals live with foster carers whilst waiting to be adopted getting love, care and important socialisation to thrive! SAFE Carnarvon has set up a network of temporary carers who open their homes to abandoned cats & dogs whilst permanent homes are sought. SAFE Carnarvon is proactive in helping to bring about positive change in the areas which cause so many unwanted, abandoned and neglected dogs and cats and strongly supports and promotes de-sexing of all domestic pets. Through positive change, the primary goal for SAFE Carnarvon is to make a difference in the quality of life for cats & dogs and to promote the immense value to humans of pet ownership. She not only cares for our fur friends but she is also a registered wildlife carer. She cares for anything from kangaroo’s, birds, snakes, turtles & anything in between. SAFE is always in need of foster carers. Also donations of food, bedding, Woolies vouchers and anything that could be associated with helping in the welfare of our fur friends is much appreciated. We’ll be at Bull Creek Tavern from 5:00pm-6:30pm with some of our adorable SAFE puppies.

Come down for a drink or bite to eat, meet the puppies and learn a little more about SAFE Carnarvon and the animals in our care.

📚🐾 Persuasive writing with a very special purpose!

We recently received this gorgeous poster from a Year 4 class at Ashdale Primary School, who have been learning all about persuasive writing.

As part of their learning, each student chose an animal currently looking for adoption, researched them, and created a persuasive poster explaining why they deserve to be chosen.

One of those posters was created for our beautiful Poppy & Diva, who have been waiting patiently for someone to see just how special they are. The student highlighted Poppy’s loyal and loving nature, her love of snuggling in a sunny spot, and the bond she shares with Diva.

We think this is such a beautiful way for the students to see that the skills they’re learning at school can have a real-world purpose, and we’re so grateful to Miss Berich and her class for choosing to use their work to help animals in need. 💙

Now we’re hoping all their hard work might help Poppy & Diva catch the eye of the right family.

🐾 SAFE PUPPIES AT THE PUB – FRIDAY 23RD OCTOBER 🐾

We’re heading to Bull Creek Tavern on Friday 23rd October from 5:00pm–6:30pm with some of our adorable SAFE puppies.

Come down, meet the pups, have a chat with us and learn a little more about the animals currently in care. It’s a great chance to support SAFE while also enjoying a night out.

Bull Creek Tavern is also supporting us in another amazing way. Every Friday night they run a meat raffle, with all money raised from raffle ticket sales being donated to SAFE.

So even if you can’t make it to Puppies at the Pub, we’d really encourage you to head down on a Friday night for a b**r or a bite to eat, grab a raffle ticket and support both Bull Creek Tavern and the work we do for animals in care.

Every ticket helps, and we’re incredibly grateful for their support. 💙

🐾 WE URGENTLY NEED PUPPY FOSTER CARERS 🐾

We currently have a massive number of puppies coming into care and we desperately need more foster homes to help us keep up.

Even short-term fostering can be incredibly helpful, whether that’s a few days, a week or a couple of weeks. Sometimes that short window is all we need to bridge the gap until another foster home, transport or adoption arrangement becomes available.

Opening your home to a puppy gives them somewhere safe, comfortable and loving to stay while they’re in care, and it also helps us make space for the next animal who needs us.

🐾 Meet Max & Mala! 🐾

Max and Mala are both looking for their new homes, and while they each have their own personality, they share plenty of lovely qualities.

💙 Max is a calm, easy-going little pup with a sweet and gentle nature. He is affectionate, people-focused and loves being close to his humans, whether that means following along with what you’re doing or curling up beside you for a cuddle. He is very attentive and would happily become someone’s resident lap dog.
Max is comfortable with normal household noises and activity, sleeps happily in his crate and is generally very quiet rather than barky. He is also low energy, eager to learn and has been easy to train so far.

🩷 Mala is a confident and curious little girl who loves exploring and checking out everything around her. She has an independent streak and is quite happy investigating her surroundings on her own, while still being very affectionate and loving time with her people. Tummy rubs are a definite favourite, and once she’s finished exploring, she’s always happy to settle beside you for a snuggle.
Mala has a lovely calm, easy-going temperament and is comfortable with normal household noises and everyday activity. She sleeps happily in her crate, is generally very quiet rather than barky, and is a low-energy pup who has been easy to train so far.

We REALLY need to move some animals south! We have several adopted pups who need to go to their new homes and LOTS who need to go to foster carers to make way for more incoming.
Our foster carers meet you at your final destination, you just make space on your seat for a crate. They are well behaved, won’t complain about your playlist or ask 1000 times are we there yet 🤣

🐾 Macy is still waiting to be adopted 🐾

Macy may be a little shy when first meeting new people, but behind that initial hesitation is the sweetest, kindest little personality.

She absolutely loves playing with her foster siblings and is never far from a good purr when she’s getting scratches. Macy is affectionate, gentle and full of love, and would suit a wide range of homes.

She’s still waiting for someone to choose her, and we’d love to see this beautiful girl find the right home soon. 🤍
