🚑 Multi-Agency Response – Carnarvon 🚤

On Monday night, St John Carnarvon responded to a call for an elderly woman in her 80s experiencing a severe neurological emergency on a cruise ship from the US.

Working alongside VMR Carnarvon, crews rendezvoused with a vessel just east of Koks Island, where the patient was assessed and treated for significant stroke-like symptoms.

Thanks to a prompt and coordinated response, the patient was safely transported to Carnarvon Hospital before being flown to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital by the RFDS a short time later.

A massive shoutout to Dean and Chris for ensuring the safe transfer of our crew, the patient, and her daughter under challenging conditions.

This job highlights the strength of teamwork across agencies and the importance of rapid response in time-critical emergencies.

Volunteers who haven’t even had enough time to clean up their own homes but still gave everything to help the community recover. Do you work with children? The Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting course provides the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults.
