Today, on the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances, we are launching our campaign ahead of the 63rd session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.
Sri Lanka's genocide against Tamils did not end with the war. Tens of thousands remain disappeared, and their families still have no answers.
That history continues in the camps of Tamil Nadu, where refugees remain undocumented decades on, and across the diaspora, from the UK to Australia and beyond, where asylum systems routinely fail to recognise what Tamils are fleeing.
At HRC63 we are presenting written and oral interventions on these disappearances, on displacement across India and the wider diaspora, and on accountability for genocide before and after the war.
