Tag Grill'd Healthy Burgers below and ask them to do better! Sexism has no place in our streets and workplaces.
And if like Grill'd workers you're facing this kind of thing at work, we've got a free workshop on sexual harassment and gender-based violence next week.

Without council workers what's left?

They're librarians, waste workers, urban planners, arborists, home care workers, early childhood workers and so many more.

They're the backbone of our communities.

We stood with them today in front of Parliament demanding fair pay and conditions!

Today, thousands of VAHPA and MSAV members stood in front of Victorian Parliament with a clear message to the government: invest in public health or watch it crumble.

Medical scientists, allied health professionals, and public health workers are the people behind every blood test, every diagnosis, every cancer screening, every patient outcome.

Without them, healthcare stops.

We stand with them in their fight for fair pay and conditions. Victoria's health workers deserve better and Victorians deserve a properly funded public health system!

Today, Sara stood in front of Victorian Parliament with thousands of VAHPA and MSAV members, sending a clear message to the Allan Government: invest in public health, or watch it crumble.

Sara is a Medical Scientist. She's one of the workers behind every blood test, every diagnosis, every cancer screening.

Without medical scientists, healthcare stops.

But right now, they're underpaid, understaffed, and pushed to the brink. We stand with Sara and every VAHPA and MSAV member. Victoria's health workers deserve better, and Victorians deserve a properly funded public health system.

“Unfortunately, it’s not uncommon in the railway as a woman to experience some form of gender based violence and sexual harassment.” That’s what Gia, a Public Transport Worker and RTBU Delegate told us.

“I wish the response from management was stronger from the get go. I would like them to realise their obligations for the safety of their workers in the workplace and I think that requires listening, taking people seriously when they’re raising issues. Our stories and our experiences should be taken seriously.”

Gia’s story is not an isolated one. Her experience reflects what many women told us throughout our research. That needs to change!
Workplaces where women are safe, included and respected are safer for everyone.

The Fair Work Commission has just announced a 4.75% increase to Australia's minimum and award wages, effective from July. The decision is particularly significant for women, who are more likely to rely on minimum and award wages. Unions fight for an increase to the minimum wage every year to protect the dignity of all workers.

These women are the leaders of tomorrow. Over the last two weeks, they've taken part in our leadership and empowerment program for women unionists, the Anna Stewart Memorial Project and today they closed it by stepping into the public eye for a cause that matters to every worker.

Standing outside the Royal Melbourne Hospital, they called on the world to recognise what too often stays invisible: that reproductive health (endometriosis, fertility, prostate cancer) concerns everyone, and that no worker should have to choose between their health and their pay.

What they did today is only the beginning. The Annas are the voices that will reshape your workplaces.

They'll inspire generations to come, showing other women that leadership belongs to them too. ✊

We can't wait to see what they build from here.
