Melbourne Interactive 2026 brought together optometrists from across the country for a weekend of learning, collaboration and connection.

From practical clinical discussions to meaningful conversations between peers, presenters, sponsors and exhibitors, the event was a reminder of the strength and vibrancy of our profession when we come together.

Sessions on glaucoma management, myopia control and navigating challenging conversations in practice sparked thoughtful discussion and shared learning, with delegates walking away with insights they can apply directly to patient care.

A special thank you to our student volunteers, exhibitors, sponsors and every delegate who helped make the inaugural Melbourne Interactive such a valuable and energising event.

400+ South Australian children each year may be missing the window for effective eye health treatment β€” putting them at risk of permanent, preventable vision loss.

New Flinders research found 17% of children in a Year 3 sample had an undiagnosed vision condition, including 2.5% with amblyopia (lazy eye).

With the SA election approaching, we’re calling on all parties to commit to universal pre-school vision screening.
