🎉 Big night for Parkville Toastmasters! 🎉

We celebrated our 300th meeting last night and had a record 10 guests join us 👏

📸 Here are the legends who came along! Thanks so much for bringing such great energy to the room. We hope you enjoyed the night as much as we did.

Lots of strong speeches, thoughtful feedback, and a few laughs along the way. Definitely one to remember.

Here’s to 300 meetings down and plenty more to come 😊

🎉 Huge Congratulations to Jo Evans! 🎉

We are incredibly proud of Jo for her outstanding achievement at the Eastern Division Contest!

🥇 1st Place – Evaluation Speech
🥉 3rd Place – Table Topics

To reach Division level, Jo first won both the Club and Area contests. An amazing effort in itself! Now, after taking out first place in Evaluation at Division, she’ll be representing Eastern Division at the District Contest at the District Conference in May. What an achievement!

For those who may not know, the Evaluation Contest is all about listening closely to a test speech and then delivering a constructive, insightful, and encouraging evaluation in just a few minutes. It’s one of the purest demonstrations of active listening, critical thinking, and supportive leadership in Toastmasters, and Jo absolutely excelled.

We can’t wait to cheer her on at District. Your club is behind you all the way, Jo! 👏

We’ve kicked off the year on a high! 🎉

Our first meeting included an icebreaker speech (a member’s very first speech 👏) and we were lucky to welcome some wonderful guests.

If improving your public speaking and confidence is one of your goals this year, we’d love to have you join us.

✨ Make 2026 the year you find your voice ✨

If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to overcome public speaking nerves or feel more confident when presenting at work, Parkville Toastmasters can help.

We’re a friendly and supportive club where members learn by doing, receive constructive feedback, and grow together in a positive environment. We always welcome guests to come along, trial our club, and see what we do, with no pressure to speak if you’d prefer to just observe.

🎤 Area Contest Highlights – Saturday, October 4th 🎉

What a brilliant day we had at the Area Contest this past Saturday! Parkville Toastmasters was proudly represented in all four categories — Evaluation, Table Topics, Humorous, and International Speech, with one of our amazing members competing in each. 👏

A huge congratulations to Jo, who took out 1st place in both Table Topics and Evaluation! 🏆🏆 She may have been officially representing another club, but we still count her as one of ours and we’re incredibly proud!

For those curious, the Table Topics question was:
💬 “With 2025 coming to an end, what is one goal you had this year, and have you achieved it?”

A heartfelt thank you to all our members who participated, supported, volunteered, and cheered. These events truly rely on the energy and generosity of our Toastmasters community.

🎤✨Toastmasters Contest Season!✨🎤

Each year, Toastmasters clubs around the world hold contests in Humorous Speech, Evaluation, and Table Topics. These contests give members the chance to stretch their skills, showcase their talents, and celebrate the fun and growth that comes with public speaking.

This week our club held our annual contest, and what a fantastic event it was! A huge thank you to everyone who pitched in to make it happen – from our club members who organised and supported behind the scenes, to the judges and officials from other clubs who generously gave their time. These events truly wouldn’t be possible without you. 🙌

🎉👏A huge congratulations to Alene for delivering her Icebreaker Speech at our last club meeting!

Her speech, titled “3rd Time is the Charm”, marks the first big milestone on her Toastmasters journey. The Icebreaker is always a special moment where members step up, share their voice, and begin building confidence as a communicator.

Well done Alene! We’re excited to see where your Toastmasters journey takes you next!

✨ A New Toastmasters Year Begins! ✨

What a fantastic way to kick off the new Toastmasters year! 🎉

Under the leadership of our new President, Stu, we celebrated our first meeting with a Table Topics Festival – a fun and dynamic way for everyone to sharpen their impromptu speaking skills (often the most challenging part of public speaking!).

We were also treated to an inspiring Ice Breaker speech – a milestone moment for every Toastmaster as they deliver their very first prepared speech. 👏

A big warm welcome to our new guests who joined us for the first time – we hope you loved the energy, learning, and laughter as much as we did!
