Some of our CWA Capel Branch members attended a funeral service in Busselton this morning, to support our member Cori, with the passing of her dear 97 year old father “Bill” that we’d all heard so much about that we knew him personally.
We enjoyed the food dishes Bill made for our CWA branch that he’d get his daughter Cori to bring with her and no wonder he was a good cook after knowing his parents had a Bakery in Northam called Lucy’s Tea Rooms, of which we learnt today are still operating, he and his wife moved to Meredin where he started a photography business and finally a Bakery in Bunbury before retirement in Busselton.
A special touching service it was, learnt that Bill had a typical childhood and Australian life of his generation, born during the Depression, filled with freedom and experiences that no longer necessarily happens today. A lasting legacy from the 4 children he had. Beautiful singing, meaningful words spoken and many tears shed.
Said goodbye as we watched the Hearse drove away.
Followed by a delicious table spread of food and fellowship. RIP Bill, now in Gods care 🙏

A couple of our Capel Branch members Judy and Rosina attended the Eaton CWA afternoon tea friendship event.

A delicious spread put on by the CWA Eaton Branch members, with an incredible sponge, very welcoming and hospitable.
Lovely to meet other cwa members from other Branches there.
Thank you Eaton Branch for the invitation.

Our FREE SOUP DAY community success
Winter sunshine meant we could set up out the front and offer FREE Takeaway soup of which worked well. Workers stopped called in and travellers driving through to Busselton saw and stopped in.
Our neighbouring CWA Boyanup friends called in to support our event which was appreciated and their Mick Cassidy won the Door Prize and their Val Sanders won the Raffle.
Our event met the outcome of giving back to the community, getting community together to meet & greet new people and bonus with hopefully 3 new members from it 🙏

It’s our Members Birthday 🎂 month of August for Susan, Avani, Dara and Jackie.
Celebrating 🥳 today together with a delicious afternoon tea at The Sacred Earth Pantry.
They never disappoint, with good service, yummy healthy food and drinks good for the soul, interesting things to buy and look at.
A new favourite for a couple of our dietary requirements members.
Thank you Susan for organising the beautiful 😍 birthday 🎂 flowers and Toni for the birthday 🎂 cards 🃏we all signed.
We thoroughly enjoyed our treasured catch up of fun & friendship 💙🌸🥳
