The Tryzub (Trident) is the official National Emblem of Ukraine, featuring a golden trident on a blue shield. Formally adopted 19 February 1992. It symbolises unity, freedom, and historical continuity.
The Tryzub originates in the 10th-century Kyivan Rus' era, where it served as a dynastic emblem. It was used by Prince Volodymyr the Great on coins. It was banned under Soviet rule.
Significance: Today, it serves as a powerful symbol of Ukrainian resilience and resistance against the Russian invasion, frequently appearing in tattoos, jewelry, and modern art.
