💙 ANTI-POVERTY WEEK | 11–17 OCTOBER 2026 💙
Poverty isn't always something you can see. It can be a family struggling to put food on the table, someone choosing between paying a bill and buying groceries, or a person who never imagined they'd need to ask for help.
This week, during Anti-Poverty Week, we're shining a light on the challenges many people in our community face and the importance of making sure nobody feels alone when times get tough. 💙
At Redland Community Centre, supporting people experiencing financial hardship is at the heart of what we do, not just this week, but every week.
💙 Emergency Relief – Providing food parcels, essential household and hygiene items, and practical assistance during difficult times.
🥖 Food Support – Making fresh bread, fruit and vegetables available through our foyer, thanks to our generous community partners.
🏠 Homeless United – Supporting people experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity through practical assistance, advocacy and connections to services.
💰 No Interest Loans (NILs) – Helping eligible individuals and families access affordable loans for essential goods and services without the burden of interest.
🤝 MoneyFinder – Helping people better understand their finances, explore available support and work towards greater financial stability.
💙 Free Counselling – Providing emotional support because financial hardship can affect so much more than someone's bank balance.
🍽️ Community Meals and Connection – Bringing people together through our Community Brunch and Community Connect BBQ, offering food, friendship and a sense of belonging.
Behind every request for help is a person, a family or a story we may know nothing about.
Everyone deserves to be treated with kindness, dignity and respect, regardless of their circumstances.
