2026 Australian Bocce All Inclusive Championships

On June 7th and 8th, Redlands SO athletes competed in the 2026 Australian Bocce All Inclusive Championships at the Casa D’Abruzzo Club in Melbourne. Competing in the teams event, Redlands SO brought home the silver medal despite tough competition. It was wonderful to compete in the same arena as our Redlands Bocce Centre athletes, so we could support each other when the opportunities arose. Under the powerful banner of “One Sport – One Community,” this multi-day event represented a significant milestone for the sport in Australia, bringing together athletes and players from all states to compete on the national stage. The inclusion of Special Olympics athletes again at this year's Australian Championships sends a strong message about diversity, belonging, and equal opportunity. Thanks go to Kerrie Reitano, Special Olympics Australia, The Casa D’Abruzzo Club for its great hospitality and Bocce Australia.

This year, Special Olympics Australia proudly celebrates its 50th anniversary. This occasion signifies five decades of breaking barriers, building inclusive communities, and creating opportunities for people with intellectual disability and autism to thrive through sport.

As part of Team Queensland, athletes from the Redlands community are preparing to represent our state on the national stage when the National Games 2026 take place in Melbourne from 19-23 October.

The support of our Redlands communities is essential to the success of our athletes and we are hosting events over the coming months to support our athletes to participate in this years national games. We invite everyone to join us at these events. Keep an eye out across our socials for the details!

Complete Nursing and Home Care QLD is proud to present a fundraising event supporting the 36 Special Olympics Redlands athletes selected to represent the Special Olympics Queensland at the National Games in Melbourne in October 2026.

This event recognises their commitment and preparation, while uniting the community in support of an important and inspiring initiative.

Please join us to support locals in way of recognising their commitment and contribution to supporting individuals and families in the community.

Cost $80.00 per ticket

Each guest will enjoy a two-course luncheon, tea/coffee, and cake, along with live entertainment including “The Ironing Maidens” guest speakers, raffles, and more.

Every seat sold contributes $30 directly to the Redlands Special Olympics, helping support 36 athletes on their financial journey.

What a spectacular day we’ve had for Redlands annual swim meet at Clem Jones Centre. Smiles all round, awesome swimming with PBs.

At Friday night Basketball training, Redlands athletes were joined by JJ and Justine from the Bendigo Community Bank at Victoria Point and Wynnum, who proudly presented our athletes with brand‑new co‑branded polo tops. The Bendigo Community Bank kindly provided the funding for this initiative.
