🦘💚 JOEY CARERS NEEDED – BOWEN & AIRLIE BEACH💚🦘

Fauna Rescue Whitsundays is looking for caring, committed volunteers in the Bowen and Airlie Beach areas to help care for orphaned and injured joeys. 🥰

As wildlife rescue calls increase, we need more local carers who can provide a safe, warm and nurturing environment while these little ones grow and prepare for their return to the wild.

🐾 No previous experience? That’s okay!
Training, support and guidance are provided.

We’re looking for people who are:
✔️ Reliable and committed
✔️ Patient and compassionate
✔️ Able to follow care instructions
✔️ Willing to learn
✔️ Based in or around Bowen and Airlie Beach

Fauna Rescue Whitsundays is excited to invite the community to our Family Fun Day—a fun-filled afternoon celebrating our incredible native wildlife while helping raise funds for local wildlife rescue.

🐾 Can You Help Save Possums? 🐾

Every possum deserves a second chance.

Right now, Fauna Rescue Whitsundays is urgently looking for caring, dedicated people to join our team of volunteer possum carers. Every year, orphaned and injured possums come into our care after losing their mums through vehicle strikes, dog attacks, tree clearing, or storms. They need warmth, specialised care, and someone willing to help them grow strong enough to return to the wild.

💚 No experience? That's okay!
We provide training, ongoing support, and mentoring every step of the way.

As a possum carer you'll:
🐾 Care for orphaned and injured possums at home
🍼 Feed and monitor growing joeys
🌿 Help prepare them for release back into the wild
🤝 Be supported by our experienced rescue team

All you need is:
✔️ Compassion for wildlife
✔️ A willingness to learn
✔️ Some spare time and a safe place to care for native wildlife

By becoming a possum carer, you'll make a real difference to the lives of our local wildlife.

🎉 Exciting News! 🎉

We are incredibly grateful to Glencore Hail Creek Open Cut, Collinsville Open Cut and Newlands Open Cut for awarding us a $15,000 grant to support our Wildlife Care Capacity and Expansion Project.

This funding will help us strengthen our ability to care for native wildlife, expand our capacity, and continue providing the highest level of care for animals in need. It represents an important investment in both wildlife conservation and our community.
