For many of us, it's easy to overlook how communication helps us access the good things in life and creates possibilities every day. For some people, however, expressing themselves may not be as simple as speaking aloud.

This Speech Pathology Week, we're celebrating the theme "Communication Creates Possibility" and recognising the many ways communication helps people connect, make choices, build relationships, and participate in everyday life.

For Janice, her communication device supports her to express herself, connect with friends and family, and make the choices that matter most to her. This independence would not be possible without the dedication and expertise of speech pathologists, who support people to communicate in a variety of ways. So this week, we'd like to say a big thank you to all speech pathologists for helping create possibilities every day. 💜

Nathan recently visited nearby Mary Carroll Park with lead Physiotherapist, Ashleigh, and saw its award-winning upgrades for himself.

As a local resident, Nathan is a regular visitor to the park during the warmer months, often attending physiotherapy sessions there. Using his wheelchair and specialised walking aid, he enjoys exploring the area's accessible pathways and taking in the beautiful surroundings. One of his favourite things about the park is the abundance of birdlife at this time of year. 🦆🦢💚

During this visit, Nathan explored the loop around the wetlands and visited the Unice Robinson Lookout, taking in the spectacular views. 🌿

Janet had a wonderful evening at a Beatles tribute concert on Friday 10 July, accompanied by support worker Ash. 🎶✨

Held at the Astor Theatre Perth, the event was a special treat for Janet, who is a huge Beatles fan and loves talking about the legendary band. Her excitement was clear from the moment they arrived, and when the music began, she had a great time grooving with Ash to many of their favourite songs performed live! 🎸🎤

Peter, Mindy, and Tracey had a great time putting together their pirate gear for Wednesday's Pirate and Pizza Night at Bentley Baptist Church. The trio wore matching hats, each adding their own accessories. Mindy came equipped with a dagger and pirate hook, while Peter donned an eyepatch to get into the spirit of a true pirate!

The night ended on a high note when they won the Best Costume prize. Congrats guys 🏆🍕
