Community Harvest

Community Harvest A new not-for-profit group connecting anyone interested in preserving seasonal produce & preserving Passata-making will be our main seasonal ritual.

Community Harvest is a new not-for-profit group connecting anyone interested in preserving seasonal harvests. We hope to include olive curing, oil processing and sausage making amongst numerous workshops we’ll run. Our aim is to create a melting pot of cultures united in preserving and sharing food traditions. Everyone with an interest is welcome to join. Workshops will be priced just to cover the

materials, varying across sessions, but always kept low. No need to become a member the first time, but regular attendees must also be or become members of Canning Agricultural, Horticultural & Recreational Society (CAHRS). Subscriptions are $25 for adults or $10 for Youth. These fees cover insurance and come with a wide range of membership benefits which Community Harvesters can take advantage of, including 2 free Canning Show tickets, plus more as found here:

These workshops fall under CAHRS’ Special Interest Groups programming, and happen in their Cannington Exhibition Centre & Showgrounds venue, utilising their kitchens. For more info, you can also join the Community Harvest Facebook Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/517947169604372/
