PAN Canberra was honoured to participate the first-ever Eid Networking Reception hosted by the Pakistan High Commission Australia on Saturday 6th June 2026.

The event brought together a vibrant gathering of professionals, students, business leaders, and members of the Pakistani-Australian community. H.E Mr Irfan Shaukat High commissioner of Pakistan in Canberra warmly welcomed members of the Pakistani diaspora and reaffirmed the High Commission’s commitment to supporting and engaging with the Pakistani community across Australia. He also acknowledged the significant contributions of Pakistani doctors, engineers, students, entrepreneurs, and professionals to Australian society.

Representing PAN Canberra, Mr. Sujahir Malik shared insights on engineering opportunities in Australia, the country’s Net Zero ambitions, and the transition towards a sustainable energy future.

Nadeem Aslam , Director of ACT Law Associates and a PAN Canberra member, highlighted opportunities for young professionals interested in pursuing careers in law. Dr. Moaz spoke about opportunities in the healthcare sector and other scholar shared her experience as an Australia Awards Scholarship recipient. Mr. Hassan from ABM Homes also shared valuable perspectives with attendees. Dr Tariq Rana and Dr Haroon Azam also appreciated the Pakistan High commission initiative for young professionals.

The evening concluded with a wonderful cultural performance of the traditional Rubab by Mr. Imtiaz and his team, showcasing Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage.

Pakistan Australia Network Canberra had the honour of being the part of the launch of Uqasha Imran Foundation and fund raising — created in loving memory of Uqasha Imran, a beautiful young soul whose life was tragically lost last year in an accident.

Uqasha was not only a talented athlete and Taekwondo champion, but also a true symbol of life, hope, and kindness. Even after her passing, she gave the gift of life through organ donation, helping others live on through her incredible generosity. Her family and friends have turned their grief into a lasting legacy by creating a foundation that will support young people in accessing sports and opportunities for a brighter future.

It was heartwarming to see her family Imran Amjad, friends, coaches, and supporters from across the Canberra community — including the Canberra Raiders coach — come together to support this meaningful cause and honour her legacy.

Through this foundation, Uqasha’s memory will continue to inspire and support young people in sports and in life. 🤍
