Community Garden, YWAM Canberra A Community Garden is soon to begin growing on the corner of Zelling & Aspinell St, Watson. We can't wait, and hope you join us in this new adventure!!

Youth With A Mission Canberra (YWAM) is soon to open an Organic Community Garden in our neighbourhood on the corner of Zelling and Aspinall Streets, Watson. People may not always have space at home to grow fruit and vegetables. The community garden will be a place where individuals and families can lease a personal garden plot, or share in the group growing-zones via membership.

Fences and the gates fixed. Pity it's rained so much - our work has been slowed down with it being so wet and muddy. Slowly but surely though we are digging out the paths to set up the first garden beds.

Sadly there'll be NO WORKING BEE today. ...I'm still in Sydney after a week away for training. While here I've took the time to visit Lalor Park Community Garden, which is such a great little hub of community activity. There's some inspiring ideas going on over here!! ..It all started from a community cafe that had a little garden out the back. Now they run art classes, mini markets, and children's events, etc. All their garden spaces are shared. And of course just a lovely bunch of people working together!!!

Each day brings something new!! ..and early mornings here are beautiful :)

:D Last Sunday's working bee was great!!! ..This Sunday we're on again from 2-4pm and you're welcome to come and join in the activities here in the garden! ..Here's some photos of last Sunday's crew, getting some pathways dug and mapped out. Thanks Nick for all your work and esp. in the corner garden bed too! Thanks Tracey for bringing your kids and all pitching in :) ..It really helped us that the ground was damp and easy to work with on Sunday. The YWAM tractor is now fixed - which will help even more!! Mark will now work his magic using the tractor for digging out the rest of the pathways from here on (Yeyyy!!) :) :) ..Now we can focus on the other tasks ahead, as we set up for Spring. I'll bring my task list for us all to follow on Sunday. Hope to see you in the garden soon!!
