Our CWA Canberra Branch had a rewarding time supporting Mothers Day over the past week. We set up a cheerful stall at RSL Mona Tait Gardens Aged Care Home, offering our delicious baked goods and handcrafted items to share with residents and staff.
We also put together some lovely gift pack for women at Doris Refuge, a small gesture to remind them they're valued and remembered. Sharing care within our community is what we're all about.

CWA Canberra Branch will be at the CWA in NSW State Conference being held in Forster next week. We are looking forward to discussions and decisions about these very important issues that affect our members and their communities throughout NSW and the ACT.

More than 50 policy motions are up for discussion at our upcoming State Conference. These have come from members in our local branches across NSW and the ACT.

“...rural and regional communities have to be even louder in our calls for a fair share of services and resources, and our Association is committed to being at the forefront of that advocacy,” State President, Tanya Jolly said.

What a fantastic day at the Blundells Cottage Heritage Market! The sunshine was out, the lake was sparkling, and Canberra’s heritage charm was on full display.

Our stall was buzzing from start to finish — and we’re delighted knowing so many people will be enjoying the jams, preserves, baked goods and handcrafted items they took home. Thank you, truly, from the bottom of our hearts.

We also loved the colour and spectacle of the event. A special shout‑out to the wonderful folks from Historic Dance Delights, who visited us in their beautiful historic costumes, and to the gents from National Military Reenactments, whose musket‑firing demonstrations kept things exciting.

A joyful day all round for the CWA Canberra Branch.

CWA Canberra Branch set up shop at the Lanyon Homestead Harvest Day Out on the weekend. Our jams, pickles and baked goods were flying off the table… well, maybe not flying, but definitely strolling away at a respectable pace.
We had sunshine...and a thunderstorm...and lots of great cheer. Thanks to everyone who stopped by and chatted, purchased, or simply hovered appreciatively over the lemon butter (which did fly off the table quite quickly!).
A successful day out for the Branch — and no jars were harmed in the process.
