The Girl Guides are taking on an Obstacle-a-thon for Epilepsy ACT—and they have already raised an incredible $1,100! 💜

On 4 September, the Tuggeranong District Girl Guides will tackle an exciting obstacle course at Ninja Parc to raise funds and awareness for people living with epilepsy in the ACT.

We are incredibly grateful for their enthusiasm, hard work and ongoing support. Every donation, big or small, will help Epilepsy ACT continue providing essential information, education and support to our local community.

We’re thrilled to have Australian 400m hurdler Alesha Bennetts joining Walk for Epilepsy 2026 as a Local Champion for Epilepsy ACT 👟

Alesha has lived with epilepsy since she was 14, and knows firsthand that epilepsy doesn’t always play by the rules.

She’s experienced seizures that have affected her training, studies and even her ability to compete - including a frightening seizure in a swimming pool that nearly saw her drown.

But epilepsy hasn’t stopped Alesha from chasing her goals 💪 Today, she represents Australia on the athletics track while studying physiotherapy and using her experience to help raise awareness and support others living with epilepsy.

This October, Alesha will be Moving for the Moments that matter - and standing alongside the 1 in 25 Australians diagnosed with epilepsy in their lifetime.

Professor Mark Cook is an internationally recognised neurologist and researcher - and, fittingly, is often referred to as the rockstar of neurology 🧑‍🎤🧠

With a career dedicated to advancing epilepsy management and surgical planning, Professor Cook’s groundbreaking work is helping change what’s possible for people living with epilepsy 💜

Our second Walk for Epilepsy 2026 national ambassador is bringing a powerful perspective to this year’s campaign 👟

Stella was diagnosed with epilepsy last year after experiencing her first seizure following her time on The Amazing Race Australia. What began as a frightening and unexpected health experience has since become a new chapter in Stella’s life - one she’s choosing to face openly and use as an opportunity to raise awareness 💜

As a model and advocate, Stella is using her platform to challenge stigma, start conversations and show that an epilepsy diagnosis doesn’t have to stop you from living your life.

This year, Stella is moving for the moments that matter - and for everyone navigating their own epilepsy journey 🚶🏻‍♀️‍➡️

Christmas in July may have missed July—but we’re not letting that stop the festive fun!

Join Epilepsy ACT for a relaxed and welcoming morning filled with Christmas craft, carols, delicious morning tea, hot chocolate and plenty of festive cheer. We’re even hoping for a crackling fireplace to complete the cosy Christmas atmosphere! 🔥☕

It’s also a lovely opportunity to meet others who understand epilepsy—without any pressure or awkward introductions. Simply come along, enjoy the activities and connect at your own pace.
