🚨 Don't just make an emergency plan. Test it.
The ACT Emergency Services Agency is inviting residents of Duffy, Rivett and Chapman to take part in Interrupted, an innovative community preparedness exercise designed to help households test their emergency plans before bushfire season.
đź“… Sunday 20 September 2026
📍 Weston Creek (Duffy, Rivett and Chapman)
During the exercise, participants will receive realistic, clearly marked TEST warnings and scenario updates through the ESA website and Hazards Near Me app, replicating how information is shared and changes during a bushfire emergency. It's a chance to practise decision-making, understand warnings, and build confidence before a real emergency occurs.
âś… Test your emergency plan
âś… Understand your local bushfire risk
âś… Practise making decisions under pressure
âś… Learn how emergency warnings work
âś… Connect with emergency services personnel and volunteers
Residents across Weston Creek may also notice planned emergency services and volunteer activities taking place throughout the day. This is a planned preparedness exercise, not a real emergency, and all exercise warnings will be clearly identified as TEST.
🎟️ Places are limited to 60 participants from Duffy, Rivett and Chapman, so registrations are essential.

Even if you're not participating, you can follow along from home and use the exercise as an opportunity to review and strengthen your own emergency plan.
Together, we can build a safer, more prepared community before the next bushfire season.
