🚨 Call to Action for Safer Streets in Mount Majura Estate Watson 🚸
On Saturday night, a driver lost control of his vehicle on Kilduff Street, mounting the curb at the corner of Phippard and Kilduff Street after a speed-related accident. The impact was severe enough to potentially write off the car — tragically, it could have been much worse.
In the attached video, (second video in comments) you’ll see just how close this came to disaster — a resident was walking his baby only metres away when the car skidded onto the footpath.
Kilduff Street is a quiet residential area, home to many families, children, and dog walkers, yet it’s regularly treated as a racing strip by drivers accelerating down the street, as well as speeding up the street only to brake hard at the Give Way sign at Antill Street. There is no reason for these speeds in this area.
It’s time for action.
For the safety of everyone who calls this community home, we are petitioning Access Canberra to install speed humps along Kilduff Street to slow traffic and prevent a potential tragedy.

Even one or two speed humps could make the difference between life and death.
Let’s work together to keep our streets safe for our children, neighbours, and pets.
The driver and passenger were very shocked but not injured.
