Despite a vicious rumour begun by the MC of Kaleen Primary Trivia Night, the Kaleen Heights Street Library will not be staging a fundraising UFC cage fight within its humble perspex walls.

But if you wish to wrestle with your imagination, we have plenty of excellent fiction and whodunnit books at the moment. You could also grapple and submit a puzzle or take a jab at one of the recipe books.

This Street Librarian has been unwell lately and so the regular tidy up hasn't happened for a month. Today I had the energy to go clean up the books and my heart sank. While we appreciate donations, please remember:

- no bulk donations
- no books in languages other than English
- no damaged or soiled books (ripped or missing pages, water warping, mildew...)
- no books that are really old and outdated

If you do have lots of books to donate or non-English language, antique etc., then Lifeline will happily accept these for their fundraising Bookfairs (link in comments).

I regularly need to take a boot full out to Lifeline from the Street Library like this load today. It would be way more helpful though if people followed the donation rules in the first place. Thanks 🙏

No, we don't accept bulk donations. This is signposted very clearly across the library. We're not a charity, we're a small community resource. If you have boxes of books or puzzles, please take them to Lifeline or Salvos. We don't have the capacity to deal with bulk loads of anything - it just means extra work and/or overflowing bins for us librarians. Do the right thing. Don't dump.
