About Patricia Falcetta

I provide a unique service in Canberra. I offer a service to all children struggling with various social and life skills issues. I act as the bridge between the support services of psychologists and speech therapists and the support that schools and parents offer the child. I support children from primary school through to the college years. Life transitions are often very difficult for children with various challenges. I assist children with various social skills depending on the stage of life that they are at. Whether building confidence and self efficacy or coping with transition, grief, bullying or learning issues. My approach is to work collaboratively with all parties involved to get the best outcomes for the child they are all working with and supporting.

In my business, Social Living Solutions, I provide support and help for children with neurodiverse conditions such as ASD, ADHD and ADD. I support children in dealing with change, transition, educational issues, crisis, friendships, bullying and building confidence. I have a passion for helping children with neurodiverse conditions and having them achieve all the they are capable of. This is due to my own personal and family experiences with neurodiversity. Working in the Australian Education System, I became disheartened by the lack of support and resources in schools therefore, preventing children from reaching their full potential. With both personal and professional experience working with children with neurodiversity I understand the frustrations parents face every day. Whether it be dealing with the school system, supporting learning, helping their children cope with change, encouraging friendships, dealing with bullies, and all the while trying to build confidence and self efficacy. I work one-on-one with children helping them cope in times of transition or crisis, in areas of educational, emotional and social difficulty, and on their sense of self worth and confidence in their ability to navigate situations. I also provide advocacy support for parents and families; advocating and supporting parents within the school setting and when working with other Allied Health Professionals. My goal is to bridge the gap between what schools provide, and the services provided by psychologists and counsellors. Having completed my Diploma in Positive Psychology and qualifications in Education Support; I am about to commence a Graduate Certificate in Autism through Griffith University. I am a neurodiverse Support Specialist with a background in project management, community education training as well as supporting and training staff in the workplace. My passion is to contribute to the future generation by enabling both children and adults to be able to have the confidence in their ability to have true self expression and belief.

I also facilitate “Celebration Day for Girls" and “Fathers Celebrating Daughters “ workshops. “Celebration Day for Girls" workshops are a one-day workshop for 10 to 13 year old girls to support them through the threshold of puberty into womanhood. “Fathers Celebrating Daughters “ workshops reinforce to fathers how important and critical they are to supporting their daughters whilst passing over the threshold from girl into young women. Fathers are crucial to positive body image, and enabling their daughters to have the most positive transition into becoming women

I have worked with neurodiverse children since 2012. Previous to this I was a Community Educator with ACT Breast Screen promoting initiatives for community education in breast cancer awareness and prevention. I also was the Project Officer for Strategy and Governanace in a Commonwealth Public Service Department where I wrote and implemented a Disaster Recovery Program. Prior to this I worked for the NRMA where I wrote and delivered several in-house training programs.
