YWCA Canberra is pleased to again offer the opportunity for YWCA Canberra members to undertake a Board Traineeship. Do you know someone who should apply? Please forward them this email!

The Board Traineeship program is an integral part of our commitment to building leadership pathways for women and non-binary people. The program provides our members with the opportunity to actively participate on our Board without the financial or legal responsibilities of being directors. There is no age limit to apply.

This program is a valuable professional development opportunity and is a pathway in supporting women’s leadership as Board Directors. It has tangible outcomes, with many of the trainees going on to be elected as Board Directors at YWCA Canberra and other organisations.

It's happening this Saturday the Canberra Potters Fired Up event for 2026. Saturday 15 August 3pm – 8pm

A winter festival celebrating Canberra’s vibrant ceramics community

Rug up, bring your friends and family and immerse yourself in the world of ceramic making, creativity and community as Canberra Potters transforms into a bustling mini festival.

Watch live pottery making and firing demonstrations by exceptional Canberra region artists and get your hands in clay with ‘have a go’ wheel throwing and handbuilding activities for kids and adults. Peruse the curated ceramic artist markets in the Canberra Potters Gallery and have a chat with our resident artists as they open their studios to the public.

Enjoy delicious food, drinks and live entertainment in the food precinct, including our famous Soup Bowl & Tumbler Fundraiser and a wine bar collaboration with our cultural partners Lerida Estate.

End the evening experiencing the spectacular opening of our woodfired Petal Kiln.

With limited parking available onsite and in the surrounding streets, we’ve organised parking at Old Station Well Dr at EPIC and a free shuttle bus looping between the tram stop at Phillip Ave, EPIC, and Canberra Potters all afternoon.

Join SpringOUT Pride Festival CBR for a glittering, absolutely camp night out as we raise funds for the SpringOUT 2026 season.

MC Wayne Herbert waynecjherbert will host a drag marathon featuring Venus Mantrap, Guy Alias, Faux Nee Phish, Holly Hazlewood, Estella Queen B, Fieldsy, Myth Meltdown, Zapp Backagain, Ty Zahn, Pink Viper, Mother Scott Milk, plus a very special performance by the Illustrious House of Iris and DJ Raydar spinning beats until late.

There will also be a raffle and a live auction of amazing items.

It all starts at 8pm on Saturday 25 July at ChiChiz, an accessible venue. This is an over 18s event.

Tickets are $20 / $15 SpringOUT members + concession (plus booking fee) via Humanitix or $25 / $20 on the door, if available. So book early to avoid disappointment and support SpringOUT!
