Celebrate Community and our Indigenous People
At YMCA Belconnen we acknowledge that we live and play on Ngunnawal land. We pay our respects to the elders past, present and future and seek to learn about the traditions and ways of Australia’s first people.
We highly value our community which includes children, families, educators and the wider local neighboured. We celebrate our strengths and unique differences. Our community is built on respectful relationships.
Children are seen as citizens of the world with rights and responsibilities. We strongly advocate for children’s rights and support children to learn and grow in their own way and in their own time.
Time in nature is part of our curriculum in all weather. We aim to nurture a passion for the environment and encourage children to become caretakers of the earth. We are committed to environmental sustainability and sourcing ethically made materials.
