2026 CHH Summer League — Wrapped (better late than never) 🎾

A slightly overdue wrap on CHH League ###VI. The OverTime Summer League ran from 40°C at the start to 4°C by the finish, so it covered the full Canberra experience before this post even went up.

This was a compressed league for almost every match, and the final week ran long around a hectic junior schedule.

Special thanks to the open/adult players who stayed flexible with our high-performance juniors and their families — Easter is peak junior tennis, and those players and parents work hard to keep finals moving alongside everything else on their calendars.

This season also helped fine-tune the R&Rs and Junior Policy through real-world feedback, which only makes CHH stronger going forward.

This Summer League was proudly run and supported by AXM Exercise Physiology and me, .

Keep an eye on Autumn League, heading into finals this week.
One week to go to register for Winter League.

See you on the court,

🎾 CHH is back where it all started — right now!
Melba Tennis Club’s Community Fun Day is on now until 1:30pm, and Canberra Heavy Hitters is here with a little 10 Years of CHH nostalgia table.

Come down for:
🔸 CHH photos from 10 years and 83 events
🔸 Champion history, prize money stats, and event records
🔸 The Golden Sledgehammers and CHH Champions Trophy
🔸 Retro CHH shirts and 2016 stubbie holders
🔸 A giant novelty cheque for deeply fraudulent fake-prize-money photos

There’s also a BBQ, raffle, bubble tea, ice cream, coffee, jumping castle, face painting, and family-friendly tennis activities.

Basically: tennis, food, sugar, kids running around, adults pretending they’re only here “for the kids”, and me standing near a table full of CHH history wondering how this all happened.

📍 Melba Tennis Club
⏰ On now until 1:30pm

Come say hello, grab some food, have a hit, take a fake million-dollar cheque photo, and help celebrate the club where CHH began.

I am pleased to invite you to join us for our inaugural "Community Fun Day" which runs from 11:30am - 1:30pm on Sunday 3rd May.

Please join us for a food and fun filled fiesta of tennis! Even better, bring your friends and family!!!

The Heavy Hitters Champions Trophy is out.
The Golden Sledgehammers are ready.
The prize money cheques are lined up.
And $1,000 is on the table for two of Canberra’s rising young guns. 🎾🏆💰

Tonight, history gets made in the 2026 Canberra Heavy Hitters Summer League Division 1 Premier League Final:

Mitchell Rankin — veteran Heavy Hitter junior
vs
Dave Gandhi — last season’s runner-up

For the first time ever, we have an all-juniors Division 1 Final — two high-performance juniors earning their place in the biggest match of the season.

Expect high-quality tennis, big-match nerves, and some seriously good shotmaking.

A big thanks to Tennis World for hosting — it’s always a breeze with you guys.

Good luck to both players — a brilliant effort from both of you to get here.

🎾 CHH Autumn League 2026 is officially LIVE 🍁

And with 95 players registered, we’ve just set an all-time CHH record.

That means over the next few months there’ll be up to 418 competitive CHH singles matches happening across Canberra.

That is a lot of tennis.
A lot of sore legs.
A lot of “I’m fine” from people who are clearly not fine.

💰 This season also has over $2,000 in prize money on the line.

And when you zoom out a bit, it’s pretty wild:
Over 10 years of CHH, we’re now nudging towards $50,000 paid out to hundreds of Heavy Hitters across Canberra.

Not bad for a flexible singles league that started as a slightly disruptive idea and somehow kept growing - and now is a major drawcard for High Performance players.

Big thanks to everyone who has played, referred mates, helped build the community, and kept this thing rolling over the past decade.

Thanks to my Wife... she let me do this thing for 10 years.
She doesn't have to. But she does.
Thanks Ladyfriend.

Now we do what CHH does best:
Matches. Matches. Matches.
