Attention all LEGO fans and builders in Canberra! A new COMPETITION is just about to open up at the Canberra Museum & Gallery - read on for more details:

Design Your Own RELIC invites builders to imagine a future Canberra in the year 2130. Entrants are asked to find an everyday, second-hand object, then build a tiny brick civilisation inside it using toy connective bricks. Each build should connect in some way to Canberra and the surrounding region, whether through its landmarks, landscape, stories, communities or everyday life.

The competition includes Junior, Teen and Adult categories. Shortlisted entries will be displayed at CMAG alongside RELICS: A New World Rises, and winners will be judged by Jackson Harvey and Alex Towler at the awards announcement on Saturday 19 September.

Key dates:
Entries open: 4 August 2026
Entries close: 5 September 2026
Shortlisted model delivery: 14 September 2026
Awards announcement: 19 September 2026
Shortlisted entries displayed until: 31 January 2027
