Canberra Hospitals Foundation Through the support of our community we help deliver exceptional patient care to the Canberra region.

The Foundation:
- Raises awareness of the exceptional care provided by Canberra Health Services.
- Works with donors to direct funds to areas of need across Canberra Health Services.
- Ensures that funds under our stewardship are allocated according to the wishes of donors and the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997. Purpose:
To work closely with the ACT community to increase the amount of donated money to assist in the provision of better healthcare services for the people of the ACT and surrounding regions. Vision:
That all residents of the ACT and surrounding regions have access to world class healthcare and facilities. We support strategies, services and research that:
-Promote individual family and community health and well being.
-Help our health system provide care and interventions at all levels-from community and primary care to acute and post acute care.
-Ensure our health care is based on the best available evidence.
-Strengthen partnerships between healthcare providers, consumers and the community.

Sunshine, smiles and a whole lot of colouring in! ☀️🎨

We had the best Saturday at the Governor-General of Australia Government House/Yarralumla History Open Day, and seeing Her Excellency the Honourable Sam Mostyn AC, Governor-General of Australia, was the cherry on top. 🇦🇺

Big congrats to our two colouring-in competition winners. You nailed it! 🏆

Canberra’s Amazing Raise has officially taken off! 🛫

Four teammates. Ten challenges. One powerful reason.

On Thursday 12 November, 20 teams will take on ten airport-inspired challenges across Brindabella Park at Canberra Airport. From Baggage Tetris to the Zip Line finale, every challenge will help raise vital funds for Canberra Hospitals Foundation.

🐔 Sometimes, healing starts with a chicken.

At Dhulwa Forensic Inpatient Unit, the Chicken Coop Project is creating moments of purpose, connection and community — one chicken at a time.

Caring for the chickens gives patients the opportunity to focus on the needs of another living being, build routines and share moments of humour as they get to know each chicken’s unique personality.

And something as simple as sitting with the chickens can open the door to stories — memories of childhood pets, farm animals and experiences from years gone by. These gentle conversations can create an accessible pathway for patients to share their own stories and experiences.

The chickens have also become a unifying presence within the unit, bringing patients and staff together around something they can care for and enjoy.

And the impact doesn’t stop at the coop. 🥚

Fresh eggs are being shared with our neighbours at the DAS pound, helping provide much-needed nourishment for the dogs in their care.

It’s a wonderful example of how a simple idea can give comfort, build community and create meaningful connections — inside and beyond the hospital.
