💛 Feedback Friday 💛
We love sharing the impact our amazing volunteers have in the community and this one comes straight from the North Canberra Hospital Emergency Department 🏥 Thank you for taking the time to share our impact! 💜💚

“The bunny and dog soft toys especially those with the knitted blankets and dresses were the clear favourites during the Easter holidays, along with the knitted chickens. 🐰🐥 Parents were amazed by the beautiful designs and the excellent quality of the soft toys and were very thankful for this kind and thoughtful gesture from Good Omen Goodeze.

Some of the curious toddlers have been especially drawn to the knitted books, with comments like, “Wow, I’ve never seen a book like this before!” ✨ Our staff also had a wonderful time using the lovely toys to comfort and distract children, which made a real difference to their experience.

Please pass on our sincere thanks to all of your volunteers—their generosity truly brought smiles and comfort to both the children and their families."

Our Ginninderry Meetup continues to grow, and it’s been so lovely to see new faces alongside familiar ones each week. 😊 We’ve also had members from other meetups come along and join in, which has made the space feel even more connected and vibrant! 🧶

A special highlight was when Chae from Strathnairn School visited us, and now, with the support of our amazing volunteers, they’ve started a yarn club at the school! We love seeing the ripple effect of creativity and community reaching even further 💛

There’s something really special about how this group shares skills so generously. We’ve watched so many of our members grow in confidence, pick up new patterns, and take on new projects – it’s inspiring every single time. 🌟

We’re also so grateful for the beautiful space and ongoing support from Ginninderry Community. 🙌 It makes these meetups possible and we're always made to feel welcome by everyone there.

It was extra special to tie last week’s meetup in with our Exhibition Showcase last Friday, with some of our members joining us to celebrate and share their beautiful work. 🥰 Seeing our community come together across both events was such a lovely moment 💫

What a wonderful day celebrating our Exhibition Showcase! 💛
A heartfelt thank you to Michael Pettersson MLA and Jo Clay MLA for taking time out of their busy schedules to join us, along with our incredible supporters and members who make everything we do possible.

It was so special to showcase the talent, creativity, and care of our members, and to share something new and exciting with everyone – our Gogster Maker Project. We can’t wait to see this initiative continue to grow!

Thank you as well to everyone who baked delicious goodies, lent a hand, and came along to celebrate. Your support, warmth, and enthusiasm made the day truly memorable. A special thank you to Ginninderry Community for their ongoing support in helping us bring opportunities like this to life – we’re so grateful.

There’s still plenty of time to visit the exhibition, with doors open until 7 June, so we’d love for you to come along and experience it for yourself.💫

What a wonderful couple of days we had at the Wool Expo at the Old Bus Depot Markets! 🧶💛 Thank you to all of our awesome volunteers who gave their time to come along and share the GOG love., we truly couldn’t do it without you. An extra big shoutout to one of our newer volunteers who stayed and helped the whole weekend!

It was so lovely to see familiar faces drop by too, with many of our members stopping to say hello, and just as exciting to meet so many new, prospective members. Your support, encouragement, and enthusiasm really filled our cups, and we can’t wait to welcome some of you into our community over the coming days and weeks.

Thank you to everyone who made the weekend the success that it was! 💛

💜 We love our volunteers 💜
It's National Volunteers Week and GOG wants to give a big shout out to all our volunteers who donate their time and resources to help craft, pack and distribute our GOG goodies, mentor new crafters, sit on our committees and volunteer their time. Without our many volunteers GOG couldn't do what it does best which is care for and support the ACT community in our very special way.

The theme for 2026 is "It's Your Year to Volunteer". Our volunteers are vital to GOG and we are always seeking more volunteers and more ways to provide GOG purpose in your life. We are always looking for:
- Admin support
- IT Support
- Pickup/delivery
- Knitting/Crochet workshop mentors and instructors
- fundraising support
- lots of other fun, and exciting GOG adventures.

Happy International Nurses Day to all the incredible nurses in our community 💙

Today, as we have proudly done for the past six years, we continued our tradition of donating our handmade blue flower brooches to nurses across Canberra Health Services as a small token of our appreciation for the care, compassion and dedication they show every single day. These flowers are lovingly made by our team and we thank each and every one who made this possible.

This year, we were honoured to present our brooches to the wonderful nurses at Clare Holland House during a very special lunch we were kindly invited to attend alongside other volunteers. The gathering was held in recognition of both Palliative Care Week and National Volunteer Week, making it an especially meaningful occasion.

A heartfelt thank you to the beautiful team at Clare Holland for the warm invitation and for the incredible work you do in supporting patients and families during some of life’s most tender moments.

To all our amazing GOG Champions and to nurses everywhere, we hope you had a truly wonderful day. Your kindness, strength and care do not go unnoticed 💙

We love sharing the impact our Goodies are having out in the community.

“A huge thank you for the wonderful handmade fidget toys and blankets that have been knitted/crocheted by your wonderful Good Omen Goodeze Volunteers for our patients in the Surgical Admission Lounge. They are truly appreciated by our patients that are very anxious for surgery.

The beautiful blankets have wrapped many of our patients in care during their most vulnerable moments and the fidget toys have been held on tight and provided much comfort. The kindness, time, and dedication to making these items is truly appreciated.

Thank you again to the Good Omen Goodeze Volunteers.”

Our Taylor group has been full of heart lately 🩷 a beautiful mix of comings and goings, familiar faces returning, and lovely new members joining the fold. There’s something really special about the way this group ebbs and flows… we say “see you later” more than goodbye, and it’s always such a joy when people wander back through the door again. 💛 Some of us with projects waiting in tubs for their return patiently for several months!😆
A big cheer for several of our members who have entered the exhibition. How exciting! If you haven’t already, make sure you check it out and celebrate their incredible work. It takes courage to share something handmade, and we couldn’t be prouder. ✨
Lately, quite a few of us have been diving into new patterns, learning as we go and cheering each other on. There’s been a definite love for making smaller toys, perfect for little hands and big hands needing comfort.🥰🧶
Most importantly, our sessions have been filled with smiles, laughter, and those easy conversations that make time fly. It’s what makes Taylor feel like more than just a group, it’s a community.
A big thank you to Margaret Hendry School and Jagmeet Singh Sandhu for his ongoing support of the group - it truly makes a difference and helps keep this wonderful space going. 🙌
