The Younger Women’s Cancer Support Group – ACT & Surrounding Region (YWCSG) was established to offer a safe and supportive community for younger women affected by cancer. We understand the unique challenges faced by younger women with cancer, from the pain and ‘scanxiety’ that comes with diagnosis to the long-term aftereffects and/or adjusting to a new (ab)normal. By supporting one another, we pro

vide advice, guidance, and hands-on experience, offering information pathways for services and resources in the Canberra region. We also run networking events, social activities, and information sessions throughout the year for our members. These events provide information about other services, support, and activities that are available, as well as social opportunities to build our network and friendship support. YWCSG believes in supporting not just those diagnosed with cancer, but also their carers, partners, relatives, friends, colleagues and loved ones. Our group raises awareness of the unique challenges faced by younger women affected by cancer, works towards closing the gaps in support, and strives to make a positive impact.
