The Winter Mid-Week Women’s Concertina Ladder competition wrapped up on Tuesday, with the weather reminding us that Spring hasn’t quite arrived yet! 🥶
After 10 weeks of competition, 30 players took to the courts on Tuesday across seven groups, followed by a lovely Presentation Lunch at the Jamison Southern Cross Club.
On the last day of the ladder competition, the aim is to win your group. Congratulations to our seven group winners: Fumiko Oi Lee (top of the ladder), Debra Hogg, Karen McLennan, Merran Hunter, Megan Cremer, Qian Nugent and Yanping Ji. 🏆👏
Big congratulations to Rafaela Wiedemann, our Most Improved Cruiser, who moved from 22nd to 12th over the competition! Awesome! 👏🤩
Twelve players did not miss a week of competition and received the Most Time Cruiser $20 prize. This season, Jean Penny and Yanping Yu played the most games (185), and Qian Nugent played the most sets (20).👏🎾
⭐ A special mention goes to Qian (also affectionately known as Qian Osaka), who had an outstanding ladder. Qian recorded three perfect scores (3 sets/24 games) in three consecutive weeks, earning the Hat Trick Award. She then went on to record another perfect score on the final day — four perfect scores in total! Amazing!
A big thank you to the Women’s Mid-Week League’s wonderful Committee – Betty Smith, Brenda Neal, Jean Penny and Julie Howe! 💚
Join us for the Spring Concertina Ladder, commencing Tuesday 13 October – FUN, FRIENDSHIP and FITNESS! 🌸🎾😎
