Opened on 28 February 2019.

YMCA Canberra Youth Space @ Civic, located next to skate park on Cooyong Street, is a safe place for all young people aged 12 -20.

It’s a space where young people can have fun, get support and advice, learn new skills, participate in great activities and express themselves. We believe in youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

Join us Thursdays and Fridays

2pm – 3pm Case Management (one-on-one support with a youth worker)

3pm – 7pm Drop in and hang with us

Things To Do: Pool Table, Table Tennis, Board Games/Cards, Arts & Crafts, Sports Equipment, Music Equipment, Computers, Books, Food, PS4/Wii, Homework Help

Location: 30 Scotts Crossing, Civic, next to the skate park on Cooyong Street

YMCA Canberra Youth Space @ Civic is a partnership between YMCA Canberra and Anglicare NSW South, NSW West, ACT that reflects both organisations commitment to providing opportunities for all young people to thrive.

It exemplifies best practice youth work: it is inclusive, engaging, stimulating, and values young people as they are. We support young people to take agency over their own lives and express themselves in productive ways.

YMCA Canberra is one of Canberra’s largest not-for-profit community organisations and has helped shape the community, sporting and cultural life of our nations’ capital.

From humble beginnings stretching back to 1941, YMCA Canberra now works across diverse areas of health, active recreation and wellness, children’s programs, disability, accommodation and hospitality services, and youth services.

We acknowledge the Ngunawal People, the Traditional Owners of the lands on which our Youth Space operates. We pay our respects to the Elders past, present and emerging, for they hold the memories, the traditions, the culture and hopes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across the state.
