Hairdresser Wanted – Sunnyside House | Immediate Start

Sunnyside House is looking for a friendly and caring hairdresser to work as an independent contractor one day per week, with flexibility around which day suits you best.

We are looking for someone who enjoys engaging with older people and building connections with our residents.

We have a dedicated hairdressing room set up within our facility; however, the hairdresser will need to supply their own equipment and hairdressing products, as these are not provided by Sunnyside House.

A Special Thank You to our community

Here’s a little glimpse of our newly refurbished lounge, a beautiful space made possible with the support and generosity of our community.

A very special thank you to our amazing community for every donation, big or small. Every contribution added up and helped make this beautiful new space possible, and we are so grateful for your kindness and support.

The feedback from our residents has been wonderful. They absolutely love the new space and especially enjoy having such a welcoming area to spend time with family and friends.

Our Leisure and Lifestyle team are loving it too. The new, organised space makes it easier to run activities and gives everyone more room to enjoy our activities together.

From all of our residents and staff here at Sunnyside House, thank you for your generosity. We are all so grateful.

We are very pleased to share with you the new Sunnyside House logo.

Over many months, we have explored a range of ideas and designs, with the aim of creating a fresh and contemporary identity for Sunnyside while still respecting the history, community and sense of place that have been part of our organisation for 75 years.

The final design reflects the beautiful landscape that surrounds us, with the two familiar mountains representing our connection to Camperdown and the wider district. It is a simple but meaningful representation of where we belong and the community we have proudly served since 1951.

While our logo may be changing, the things that matter most about Sunnyside remain the same — our commitment to providing compassionate, respectful and high-quality care, and our strong connection with our residents, families, staff and community.

We are excited to begin this next chapter for Sunnyside House and look forward to seeing our new identity become a familiar representation of an organisation that is proud of its history and equally excited about its future.

What a wonderful afternoon at Sunnyside House!

Today we were delighted to welcome the OK Sisters who came along to entertain our residents with some fabulous songs from the past. It was so lovely to see our residents singing along, tapping their toes and enjoying every moment!

A huge thank you to the OK Sisters for coming to Sunnyside House and helping to brighten the day of our residents. Your music, energy and warmth brought so much joy to everyone — we loved having you here!

There’s plenty happening at Sunnyside, and we’re excited to share some of the wonderful moments, activities and celebrations from the past month.

Tonya has been part of the Sunnyside family for 13 years, and we think that definitely deserves a celebration!
No two days are ever the same for Ton, from caring for our residents, keeping everything running smoothly, and being there when she’s needed, Ton somehow manages to fit it all in — always with a smile and a good laugh along the way!

Tonya genuinely cares about every one of our residents and brings so much compassion, patience and dedication to her role as a nurse. She is someone our residents know they can rely on, and she is loved by staff for her caring nature, sense of humour and the way she always makes time for others.

And while Ton takes her nursing role very seriously… she definitely doesn’t take herself too seriously! 😆 Whether it’s joining in an activity, having a laugh with the residents or getting involved in the fun, Ton is always up for it.

We’re so lucky to have you, Ton — thank you for everything you do for our residents, our team and Sunnyside House. Here’s to many more years!

Today is a beautiful reminder that happiness doesn’t always come from big moments or occasions. Sometimes, it’s found in a sincere smile, a shared laugh, a conversation, or simply enjoying someone’s company.

These simple moments of connection at Sunnyside are what make each day meaningful, and we feel privileged to capture and share a glimpse of them for you.

Because sometimes, happiness can be this simple.

I Once Was......

Behind every face is a lifetime of stories, achievements, and memories.

Our residents have been teachers, parents, workers, carers, leaders, nurses, farmers, adventurers and so much more. They have contributed to their families, and their communities in countless ways.

“I Once Was” is a gentle reminder that our residents are not defined by where they are today.

Today, we celebrate their stories and achievements and remember that every person has a history worth knowing and a story worth sharing.
