🎨 New June Exhibition at The Courthouse! 🏛️

Corangamite Arts is proud to present Buildings, Architecture and Structures, a captivating new exhibition showcasing the work of approximately 15 local artists. Inspired by a shared theme, the exhibition features diverse styles, techniques and mediums, from familiar local scenes to imaginative and expressive interpretations of the built environment.
Visit The Courthouse this June and discover the creativity, talent and unique perspectives of our vibrant artistic community.

🌟 What a fantastic day we had last Saturday on our Courthouse Ambassador Tour, exploring our very own backyard – beautiful Camperdown! 🌟

There is always something new to discover. Did you know that Camperdown Hospital was the first regional hospital in Victoria? 🏥

The day was filled with plenty of laughs, great local stories, and a few shenanigans up on Mount Leura! 😄⛰️

A huge thank you to:
👏 The Camperdown Mill and The Commercial Hotel for showcasing some of the wonderful accommodation options available in our region.
👏 Maree Belyea and the Historical Society for sharing the fascinating history behind our local buildings and community.
👏 Louis Dupleix and the team at Lake Edge Café for a delicious lunch – absolutely worth a visit! 🍽️😋
👏 The Mount Leura and Sugarloaf Management Committee for helping us appreciate the incredible natural assets right on our doorstep.

🗺️ Corangamite Uncovered – Wednesdays with a Dose of Local History!

Before it became the much-loved Pombo Mart, this Camperdown landmark began life as the Camperdown Cheese & Butter Factory, opening in 1892 at the heart of the district’s thriving dairy industry.

Over the decades it changed hands several times. Sold to Bacchus Marsh Concentrated Milk Co. in 1908, then to Nestlé’s Anglo-Swiss Company in 1917, before returning to Camperdown Cheese & Butter in 1926.

Like many country buildings, it found new purpose through the years becoming a piggery and later a poultry farm before evolving into the Pombo Mart locals know today: a wonderful vintage store where you can easily lose track of time while searching for your next treasure.

Pombo Mart is open Thursday thru to Monday with cafe open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

🍯 Wow… the honey has been flying off the shelves! 🐝

A huge thank you to everyone who has popped into The Courthouse Camperdown to pick up a jar of Mossy Bottom Farm Red Gum honey. It’s been wonderful seeing so much support for local producers Matt and Ruth from Weerite.
