The Lilyfield Rd Separated Cycleway (concept) was formally approved and adopted by council last night (19 May). This is a huge milestone in Sydney's shift into cycling as a real travel option for all ages and abilities. This decision signals that - subject to securing construction funding - council and TfNSW are genuinely committed to building the cycleway. Next Step: Detailed Design, where many technical challenges such as drainage, traffic flow management, traffic signals are fully tested and sorted. This is huge. 20 years in the making.
