We’re excited to share the news that one of Australia’s most iconic reptile books has been completely revised and updated for the first time in 30 years.

Even better, we’ll be celebrating its official launch at the Combined Herpetological Societies Christmas Party on Saturday, 5 December, at the Australian Reptile Park.

Professor Rick Shine will be joining us on the day to talk about the creation of the new edition, what readers can expect to find in the book, and some of the major highlights and discoveries in Australian snake research over the past three decades.

Rick Shine’s iconic Australian Snakes: A Natural History has been completely brought up to date, with new photographs throughout and the latest scientific knowledge incorporated across the book.

Like its predecessor, we expect this new edition to become an instant classic.

The Australian Herpetological Society has secured the first batch of books, which are expected to arrive in the coming weeks.

For the launch, Rick will also be signing a limited run of special book plates for these first-release copies.

Books are $40 each, plus $10 postage.

More details about the Christmas Party and book launch will be announced shortly, but mark Saturday, 5 December at the Australian Reptile Park in your calendar.
