Endometriosis has no known cure — but support is available 💛

While there is currently no cure for endometriosis, a range of treatments can help manage symptoms and improve quality of life. These may include:

• Pain‑relief medications
• Hormonal treatments, including hormonal contraceptives, to suppress ovulation and periods
• Surgery to remove endometriosis lesions, such as laparoscopy (key‑hole surgery) or laparotomy (abdominal surgery)

Treatment looks different for everyone. Finding the right approach often takes time, support, and informed care.

What is Endometriosis? 💛

Endometriosis affects everyone differently. Some people experience mild or no symptoms, while others live with ongoing and severe pain.

Common symptoms can include:
• Painful periods
• Pelvic pain
• Pain when using the toilet
• Extreme fatigue
• Bowel issues (bloating, constipation, diarrhoea, pain when doing a poo)
• Bladder pain (including pain when weeing)
• Pain with s*x
• Bleeding between periods
• Difficulty getting pregnant (infertility)

Symptoms can change over time. Feeling worse doesn’t necessarily mean the endometriosis has grown.

Getting a diagnosis can take years — many people face long delays before being diagnosed. Raising awareness helps lead to earlier support and better care.

Endometriosis affects millions — and yet it’s often misunderstood. 💛

Endometriosis can cause pelvic pain that disrupts daily life, especially around or during periods, and may also affect fertility.

Because symptoms vary from person to person, diagnosis is often delayed — on average by 6.5 years. Greater awareness is essential for earlier diagnosis, better care, and improved quality of life.

🩺✨ Let’s keep the conversation going.

Did you know? 💛

Endometriosis is a long‑term condition that causes inflammation and pain. It occurs when tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the womb, in other parts of the body.

In Australia, endometriosis affects 1 in 7 women and people presumed female at birth — yet many still experience delays in diagnosis and care.

Awareness matters. Understanding leads to earlier support and better outcomes.
