Amazing!!
It was a pleasure to welcome representatives from Hume Region Scouts to our Wollondilly Electorate Office in Tahmoor this week.
I was incredibly honoured to be presented with a framed Southern Highlands District 'Commissioners' Challenge Award' 'Woggle' in recognition of my longstanding support for Scouting across the Wollondilly Electorate. I was also delighted to receive a framed commemorative presentation celebrating the 80th Anniversary of Hume Region Scouts (1946–2026), along with a special 80 Years commemorative pin.
This year marks an incredible milestone, celebrating 80 years of Hume Region Scouts supporting young people across south-west Sydney and the Southern Highlands. Since 1946, generations of Scouts have developed confidence, leadership, resilience and practical life skills through adventure, service and teamwork. More broadly, Scouting has been part of our local communities for well over a century, creating a proud legacy of youth development and community service.
Here in the Southern Highlands and Wollondilly, the Bargo, Mittagong and Moss Vale Scout Groups continue to provide young people with opportunities to learn, challenge themselves, make lifelong friendships and give back to their communities. From camping, hiking and canoeing to leadership and community service, Scouting equips young people with skills that last a lifetime.
My sincere thanks to the dedicated volunteer leaders, youth members, families and supporters whose passion and commitment have made Hume Region Scouts such an enduring success over the past 80 years.
Congratulations on this remarkable milestone. Thank you for the wonderful recognition—it is an honour I will proudly treasure.
Happy 80th Anniversary, Hume Region Scouts! ⚜️🎉
