🏕️ Mountains, Memories & Mateship 💙

Our Senior Guides spent the long weekend at Random Cottage in Mount Victoria, enjoying breathtaking views, a trip to Scenic World, plenty of board games, delicious food, and lots of laughs.

Fun fact: Random Cottage sits in the heart of Mount Victoria, one of the oldest towns in the Blue Mountains and a gateway for travellers crossing the mountains since the early 1800s. The area is rich in history and has been welcoming adventurers for generations.

A weekend full of adventure, friendship, and memories to last a lifetime. 💙

🧸🚑 You're Never Too Old to Save Your Teddy! 🚑🧸

It was a tough night for the teddies at Guides! Between floods, bushfires, kitchen fires, lost children and falling trees, our brave teddy patients certainly kept the girls busy.

As part of our first aid activities, the Guides put their skills to the test by assessing emergencies, treating injuries and even creating their own stretchers to safely rescue and transport their furry friends.

Learning first aid doesn't have to be serious all the time — sometimes the best way to build confidence and practise important life skills is with a little imagination and a well-loved teddy bear!

Who knew teddy bears could get themselves into so much trouble? 🤷🏼‍♀️

This project is growing on us... but the bamboo grew faster! 🌱😅TRADIES, LANDSCAPERS & EARTHMOVERS — WE NEED YOU! 💙

Our bamboo removal project is underway, but we still need help to get it across the finish line and transform this area into a safe, usable outdoor space for our Guides and community.

Camden District Girl Guides is looking for support from local businesses, contractors, landscapers, earthmoving operators, or anyone with the expertise to help us move forward.

We're particularly seeking assistance with:
🚜 Digging deeper and site preparation
📏 Levelling and grading
🛻 Clean fill
🛠️ Project expertise and support

As one of the largest Girl Guide districts in NSW, we're working to create an outdoor space where girls can learn new skills, gather around a campfire, enjoy outdoor adventures, and make lifelong memories.

🥾 TAKE A HIKE! 🌿

On Sunday, Camden District Guides joined other girls from across our region for a fantastic day hiking at Lake Parramatta.

The girls completed the lake loop while practicing their map reading and navigation skills, enjoying the beautiful scenery and spending time outdoors together. It was a wonderful opportunity to build confidence, teamwork and outdoor skills while making new friendships along the way.

QUICK… what’s one thing you remember from childhood that made you feel brave, confident or proud? ✨

For some, it was climbing a tree.
For others, it was camping under the stars, making new friends, learning to cook on a fire, speaking up in a group… or just finally believing in themselves 💙

That’s the kind of magic we see every week at Guides.
Behind the crafts, campfires, hikes, laughter and chaos 😅 are girls learning resilience, leadership, teamwork and confidence — often without even realising it.

And honestly? Watching them grow into capable, kind and confident young people is pretty special.

If your daughter has ever wanted to try something new, make friends, get outdoors, be creative, adventurous or just belong somewhere welcoming… maybe Guides is worth a try 🌿
