Over the weekend it was time for another bittersweet celebration for MRU - Luke’s Boot! 🥾

Reconvening under the moonlight, we said goodbye in a campfire-side and candlelit ceremony at Cresco Scout Camp! Hearing stories from international moots, region endeavours and local adventures - it was clear to see that Luke fully took on all the opportunities that Scouts can offer!

Thanks Luke for the years of service, memory making and fun with MRU - we can’t wait to see what you get up to next! ❤️💛💚

Over the long weekend, a group of MRU & friends headed down the coast to tackle an ambitious adventure, dubbed the Great Ocean Speedrun! Hiking from Apollo Bay to the Twelve Apostles in 4 days, the group tackled river crossings, coastal climbs and long days underfoot 🥾 Fuelled by copious amounts of chocolate and a need for speed, there was no stopping this group on the epic journey!

Thanks to all the wonderful legends who supported this trip too!

‘We’re all mad here’ at Scouthike 2026! ☕️ Over the weekend MRU hosted a Mad Hatter’s tea party for the hundreds of scouts that came to visit our activity base!

Deciphering deadly from delicious, detective skills were put to the test in identifying uses of native plants ☠️🌱 This was followed by a campsite-renowned natural feast of nettle tea and the ‘best-ever’ wattleseed damper!! 🍞

Well done and thanks to all the scouts that came to visit and to the volunteers for another great event ⚜️

Over the weekend, MRU hit the trails with an epic adventure to Stones Outstation 🥾🏕️

Conquering hills, downpours and lengthy water collection missions, we truly experienced Lake Eildon in all its forms 🌧️🪾

And we can’t forget the epic feast that fuelled our journey - a spectacular three course campfire banquet that kept us going from bakery to bakery👨‍🍳

To the next journey!

Hi everyone,

MRU has been going through the den recently and are wondering if anyone remembers or has any stories of what these historic bottles were from/used for.

Let us know through a comment or private message, we would love to know more about the history of these!

Thanks,
