Well you had better be pretty keen to head out tomorrow unless you have good wet-weather gear and some warm clothes. Rain, cool temps and an offshore swell with a strong easterly wind both days. The Caloundra Wave Buoy remains offline (Mooloolabah included), I'll make some enquiries next week and let you know what the issue is. You are in the capable hands of ECHO Crew and if you do head out please log-on with us. Stay safe on the water.

Vessel Master Lee received a call around 0445 this morning from a yacht that was stranded approximately 9 mile south of Bribie Bar on the beach. Vessel Master Lee rang his Delta crew of Greg, Steve and Jason around 0500 ( after me@ #$%) which they were all so happy with receiving and quickly mobilised to assist the stricken yacht.

The crew secured a line to the vessel and kept the strain on as the tide was gradually rising. After an hour and a half, the vessel was free to continue on her journey. We just received a lovely thank you from the Skipper.The crew returned around 1000.

Delta crew trained doing Search and Rescue patterns out wide, navigation and some bar practice. The crew said it was great outside and the waters were reasonably calm. No requests for assistance so a full training weekend

Delta crew, under the leadership of Tony Di, settled into their first rostered weekend on the water using the new operational systems and crew structures for the first time as Marine Rescue Queensland.. A lot of learnings but they did really well for Day 1 and celebrated with a lunchtime BBQ to talk about the new processes, before heading out again.

Some adjustments will be made tomorrow as they 'fine tune' the new operations platforms and administration procedures.

Thanks to all the Crew and Radio Officers for putting in all your volunteer hours today and tomorrow.

After a wonderful holiday I returned to Caloundra to a completely rebadged building, vehicles and vessels, following our transition to Marine Rescue Caloundra. I would like to personally thank Chris Hamilton in his role as Operations and Administration Officer, along with the executive team, for coordinating the smooth transfer in my absence. Today we had our first senior management meeting to set in place a number of issues including ongoing training and Unit membership moving forward. Thank you all for the countless hours of work to make this transition successful. Cheers UC Roger.

A pretty good weekend ahead but there is a chance for some isolated thunderstorms. The Caloundra Waverider Buoy is offline at the moment so we have used the Mooloolaba Buoy as an offshore guide. You are in the safe hands of DELTA Crew. Please log-on if you venture out and, as always, stay safe on the water.

The upstairs floors are starting to look really great and all the gutters and down pipes are now clean. Thanks to MRQ for financing these couple of well over due jobs and to our very own Gary R, who as been onsite since Tuesday and will be though to knock off on Thursday, to ensure all goes well and safely.

Its all go today at Marine Rescue Caloundra with a new floor covering being done upstairs, maintenance on the trailer and vessels and tomorrow, at long last, our gutters will be free from ' over growth'

Just to fill up the day, we completed an ashes scattering at Caloundra Headland and after arriving back at HQ, we had a request for assistance for a small tinnie aground near the Caloundra Power Boat Club. A quick hookup and a slow tow to the boat ramp and all was good.

What a great weekend on our pristine waters with just the one assist required and one just came in for Lighthouse Reach. One crew carried out a large navigation exercise with a few stops for using the handheld compass and chart plotting along the way. The other crews trained in the Passage and dropped in to see Sharon and Joe at the Power Boat who were talking to boaties about Marine Rescue Qld ( MRQ) and the future rollout of an App that will allow all mariners to log on and off very easily.

Vessel Master Kerry and his crewman Paul are heading off shortly for a quick run to help the vessel at Lighthouse Reach, so give them a wave on then way past
